Okay, here's the answers:

Tea for Tigger and Missy, Too!!

The Tea Steepers
1. The scientific name for the tea plant is Camellia sinensis.
2. As its scientific name implies, tea is related to the camellia flower. ;-) (psych!)
3. The various types of tea only differ really because of how much OXIDATION each type has undergone.
4. There are more varieties of tea than I can name in three postings, but Squirrel's are all correct. Good job!!
5. Tea leaves have about 4% caffeine naturally before processing. (Close enough, SS. Wink!)
Bonus: Squirrel's answers are all correct, as well as a possible preventative and/or treatment for various cancers, neurological disorders including Alzheimers and multiple sclerosis, various autoimmune disorders, including arthritis, and heart disease.

The Shangri-La Tigers
1. LOL, I like the Pussycatus Ferociacous, Squirrel ;-), that describes Missy to a T. But the scientific name for the tiger is really Panthera tigris, just like you first suspected.
2. This was another easy one, as I had this on a previous quiz ;-). The five subspecies of tigers still in existence are the Bengal, the Indochinese, the Siberian, the Sumatran, and the South China.
3. Squirrel's right--the jaguar is the other big cat that naturally takes to water.
4. Tigers are capable of jumping more than 16 feet high, and between 29 and 32 feet in length (much farther than the average human can jump, even with technological assistance).
5. Tigers can kill an animal some six times its own body weight. Two of its typical prey are gaurs (Indian bison) and water buffalo, which can each way more than a ton.
Bonus: 1. Practically every organ and tissue from a tiger's body is still used in traditional Asian medicine and folklore. Ground up bone is thought to prevent bad luck, enchantment, convulsions, and ill health. A tiger's heart is thought to bring strength, cunning, and courage to one who eats it.

The skin of a tiger is used to cure fevers and curses, and the genitalia are used as aphrodisiacs. Sadly, no scientific corrorboration exists about the validity of ANY of these beliefs, so these animals are being killed for no good reason.
2. The poem, 'The Tyger', one of the most famous in English literature, was written by William Blake.

And with 12 correct, Secret Squirrel wins!! Good job, Squirrel!!!! ;-D (Hands Squirrel a large bag of Orange Pekoe tea, and a cuddly stuffed animal tiger!!) Congratulations!! ;-)
