See if there is interest for this.

1. Each day I will post 10 questions, at random times of the day.
2. Each Quiz runs exactly 24 hours.
3. The first person that has all 10 questions right, wins. Or if no one has all questions right, the best one wins.
4. You can only post answers ONCE for the same quiz.
5. No cash involved. Just glory. :)

So far, Android is in the lead with 7 total. Rosamund and Lucian did give an acceptable second answer for #2, but it technically is not the domestic cat that we are looking for. Rosamund is in second place right now with six correct answers, and Lucian has 4 1/2 (we'll give you half credit for the 'Chinese' part of #4, but there are two different types of endangered tigers with Chinese in their names, and you weren't specific about which one.). Any other animal lovers out there?? Remember, Google is a no-no. ;-)

(Curtsies, and looks down at a mewing Missy, with a highly expectant look on her face.) 'Yes, Your Majesty, you helped as well. A thousand apologies. Would some of Auntie's homemade canned tuna soothe your bruised ego?' (Watches as a certain miniature royal tiger's ears perk up at the mention of the word tuna, and the disgruntled expression on her face dims slightly. Follows after Her Highness towards the pantry....)

"A fine conscience I turned out to be!"
Nahh, it's going to be too quiet around here if you do that. Now I don't have Pinocchio within reach so I'm not sure which tasks we shall ask you to perform in order for you to exonerate yourself if that was the route you were looking to go - hmm, something about a whale and dancing with a bunch of marionettes...

Oki, go to the kitchen (think I read somewhere above that you were at home now), take a can of tuna (0r any kind of fish you have at hand), stand infront of the computer and do the Barynya dance while you sing "Give A Little Whistle" - and all will be well ;)

And (drumroll, please) here are the answers:

1. The Manx cat is the only cat who is born naturally without a tail. Even the Bobcat has a stub of a tail. And the Lynx's tail is longer than the Bobcat's.
2. The Turkish Van is correct, however I was looking for the Maine Coon cat. So, you get a point for it because I forgot about the Turkish Van.
3. Bengal is the name for the breed that comes from crossing a house cat with (usually) the Asian Leopard cat. First generation offspring are referred to as 'Foundation Bengals' and are supposed to be restricted to qualified breeders.
4. The 5 remaining species of Tiger are: Siberian (or Amur), Bengal, Sumatran, Indochinese, and South China tigers. The 3 species that are now extinct are the Bali, Caspian and Javan tigers. All 3 became extinct between the 1930' and 1970's.
5. The Snow Leopard is also commonly known as the Ounce. (for Lucian: Uncia uncia. It's not believed to be closely related to the leopard and has it's own genus)
6. The Asiatic lion. It's estimated there are only about 202 left in the small region they now inhabit.
7. Count them. *grin* the front two feet have 4 toes each. the back have 5. makes 18 according to my calculator.
8. According to Guinness World Records, the oldest cat ever was Creme Puff, born August 3, 1967 and still living at the age of 37 in 2004. There is an unverified claim of a 43 year old cat. On 2nd January, 1972, a man living in Dumfriesshire, Scotland claimed that his cat (unnamed) had celebrated its 43rd birthday. Unfortunately the cat had been hit by a train before this could be verified. :(
9. The male is a Tom and the Female is a Queen. (Looks at Missy, yes, Your Majesty. Tuna coming right up!)
10. Felis domesticus.

Bonus: Jacobsen's Organ or Jabobsen's Pit It's in the back of their throat and is why you sometimes see them panting oddly.

So, SS/PA wins with 7 correct answers!!! Good Job Everybody!!!
