As a SOM player, why did SS quit, and why does Ben not support SOM?
Many players are quitting and leaving SOM due to the lack of support on the SOM site.. The admin has not been supporting the players of SOM, but it is clear that he supports the people of NOIR..????

Read some threads here and you'll find that not all the people of Noir feel very supported either. Don't think there are any winners and losers here, just not enough hours in Ben's life.

It is a shame to see the players in SOM quitting the game, there are even some very experienced players who have quit or gone inactive due to this..

Ben is very busy; but I like to think that, here, the community keeps the game alive :)

But the problem is that Ben promised SoM players with updates:

http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=35660

saying that it will be updated within the next few weeks and we waited nearly 3 months now and looking at the latest posts by Ben:

http://shades.playsleuth.com/detective/userposts.spy?id=31

his last new thread is on the 24th Dec 2012, so another 2 more months down the road, its been one year with no updates. Unlike Noir, there's no one in SoM who is able to do the programming like Serges here, so its tougher for the community there to keep it going and alive. Also since SS stopped doing updates there, we ended up with dead end.

Which has more player? Noir or shades? I am thinking into playing shades. I dont know, seems you need more time because solving one cases is harder than noir, not to mention 30 cases a day if subbed. I want to play if more people are playing.

I haven't been over to Shades in ages, but in my experience the two games attract very different types of players. I remember when Shades first launched I was very excited about it (as were a number of other regular Noir players). The game has a lot of potential, but I don't think you're going to find a lot of Noir players there.

I play in shades still regularly, there are still a few players over there but im not sure how many people subscribe. It is a great shame the game has been left as it has the potential to be fantastic but i play my 4 cases a day hoping 1 day someone will come along and scoop it up.
