In this RP stage short, Molly will be taking the stage as the wife of the nightclub owner, and nightly hostess (Emcee-like figure). She is charged with overseeing the chorus girls, however it is well-known amongst them that she would like a bigger slice of the pie in the nightclub, changing the venue from the nearly-seedy place it is now to a all-singing, all-dancing revue with her as the star. Janie was considered younger and more talented for this position, and rumors that she was having an affair with the nightclub owner NICHOLAS MALTESE were circulating, giving Molly ample motive for being a murderess.

Vivien Clara Sharp

Vivien Clara Sharp will be participating as VIVIEN SHARP, a loudmouthed and opinionated chorus girl with a wicked sense of humor. *correction to dossier, she is the one who found victim, NOT Vera Elspeth.*She is a wealth of information on the backstage goings-on of the club, as well as the dubious clientele with tables reserved in the front each night.

Victoria "Vulkie" Nouson will be participating as Detective Vulkie / Nouson, investigating the seemingly difficult case. She is currently working for the PAD - Pinkerton Agency Detectives, an agency based in New York and solely focused on solving cases that are handed to them which other people can't solve or haven't got the time for.

Jack Billings will be participating as himself. Jack Billings, a New York politician of dubious background- most often associated with the Hellfire Club, a mens club primarily based out of London who back Jack Billings in his political agendas. Jack Billings frequents The Sahara, and has been known to take Janie out on a few occasions, although previously he had been linked to Vivien Sharp.

Heimlich VonVictor will be participating as a patron of the establishment. A former detective for the New York City Police Department, he retired after suffering a minor heart attack during a foot pursuit. Gruff and cantankerous, he has been reluctant to move back into the life of a civilian. He was celebrating his son's engagement when Vera's body was discovered. He immediately took charge of the scene and collected evidence. A wise and valuable resource, his years of experience have served him well. It's often been said that he would kill for one last shot at being a hero... would he really?

Riza Hawkeye

First Nomad

Aug-23-2012 20:02

Riza Hawkeye will be participating as an alcoholic who spends most of her time at the nightclub. She is always seated by herself in a shadowy corner near the stage. Patrons say she was conspicuously absent from her table for several hours the evening Vera’s body was discovered. Snarky and unabashed, Riza swiftly sours the mood of anyone who attempts to converse with her. It is rumored she has connections to the men who operate within the city’s shadows, but as with all rumors…they have a way of getting people killed.

Johan A.K.A yoyo will be participating as a detective who’s grown tired and weary of the world of investigations. Having worked for governments, individuals and even criminal organisations he’s become jaded, grown tired of violence and has seen too many friends leave this world prematurely. On the night of the murder he was at The Sahara in attempt to stir whatever remains of his soul. It didn’t work.

Ed Carlyle

Ed Carlyle will be participating as Ed Carlyle, a consulting detective/private investigator with a degree in toxicology. He always has something to say and has a hard time keeping his mouth shut, which often gets him into trouble. In spite of that, he is more intelligent then he seems. When the body was found, he locked the doors of the club so no one could leave, praying the killer was still in the building. "It's going to be a very busy night," he said.

Ladies, gents, animals.

With this many RPers I see we are nearly ready to begin. I will start a separate thread when it is time, this thread will be a dossier, or a point of information. If we have additional RPers interested in playing a key role or even cameo-ing, they will post a quick blurb here before jumping in so that everyone has a frame of reference with which to interact with their character. Since the shorts are generally a little different than a regular RP, the format will vary a little. For the sake of organization, as well as participating I will act as a master to keep things on track.

If any of you are interested in being the murderer, PM me. First one to do so will receive confirmation from me that they are the killer. I will post here that a killer has been selected, but not the name.

From that point on, it is the killers job to interact with whatever evidence or story plot that is found and to react accordingly. When its time to start wrapping up I will notify the killer and participants and we will strive for a truly groundbreaking ending! Does this sound fair?

At any point you may PM me with questions for clarification, as well as your other RPers. Note that the date of this case is in November of 1934. I expect RPers involved to add that extra touch with relevant story details of the time period. Though the Sahara is a fictional nightclub, it is set in New York, and you are free to use historical landmarks to your advantage in the story, as well as common language of the time.

Please do not overstep your characters boundaries, and interact respectfully with your fellow RPers. With all that said, allons-y, my RPers! Let us spin a scintillating tale of jazz, murder, intrigue in the heart of the Big Apple!
