It is rumored that the ornate palace gates of Shangri-La have finally been opened to the public for the first time in known history. The Prince is making his debut into the public eye with a brilliant gala hosted by the Prince himself: an exclusive invitation-only event attended only by the most prominent and affluent people from countries all over the world.

Some commoners have been invited to this rare event--but not as guests. The Prince's most trusted advisor has particularly collected special operatives to patrol the event: the world's brightest, swiftest, and most skilled. You will be entrusted with making sure that everything goes off without a hitch. But there are those who would rather see the event go down in flames, along with the Prince himself.

Five minutes before the event is scheduled to start, a report of a most alarming nature reaches the operatives' ears. There has been a breach in the ranks. Some spies have infiltrated the group! But since they have never seen each other's faces, there is no way to tell whose allegiance is true. The team has been compromised, but there is still a chance to save the evening.

The operatives' job this evening is to make sure the Prince's gala goes off without a hitch. If he is pleased at the end of the night, they will be rewarded handsomely. Sources say he is forgiving of small mishaps, but when pushed too far...

The Prince's reputation is at stake. Will his gala be a phenomenal success, or will it succumb to the sabotage of the spies? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

Molly has made her mission proposal.

Mission 1, Team 2

Team Leader: Molly Maltese
Team Proposal: Molly Maltese, nicnic, Adam Carter

It is now time for the rest of the team to vote to either approve or reject this mission proposal.

When you do vote, please send me a PM stating "Mission 1, Team 1: YES or NO."

This mission proposal swaps vulkie for nicnic in the grand scheme of things. Since information is still at a premium, and nicnic is already leveling suspicion toward me, I know where my vote will fall.

OK. I kinda like this team proposal. It appears that Molly is probably Resistance. She could be fooling but I've noticed there is a different type of playing when Molly is a spy vs. Resistance. When she's Resistance, she gets stressed and takes notes. When she's a spy she twirls around talking about thinking outside the box and not making any sense ;-) So my gut feeling is that Molly is Resistance.

My gut (and my spreadsheet) is also telling me that Adam is probably Resistance too. His allegiance was revealed as such by Vulkie and his reasons for voting no on the first mission made sense if he was Resistance.

So I like this team. And I think it's as good as any one we can come up with for the first mission. So I'm going to go ahead and vote yes on this one, mostly because I want to be on the first mission and I'm not sure that anyone else will propose me after this. Also because if this mission goes, Adam is the next leader and he will get the special powers and at this point I'm feeling comfortable that he is probably Resistance.

Serges.... why haven't you addressed any of our concerns with your choices?

Nicnic, I've honestly been occupied with RL things in the last 24 hours. My last post was from my phone. It's really difficult to write novels with a touch screen. I'm happy to explain anything anyone would like, but as far as I saw no one asked me anything directly about my turn as leader.

So, what would you like to know?

Still feeling a bit uncomfortable about choosing my answer. I'm strongly going towards no, because of the following: I am pretty sure from the team that 2 of the 3 were resistance. Now, I have been replaced, and I know (for sure) that one of them is absolutely belonging to the resistance. But it's the same setup, except without me. Molly is in it again (of whom I do not know her allegiance), NicNic is in it instead of me, of whom I also don't know the allegiance yet and Adam belongs to the resistance.

I now know for sure that only 1 out of 3 people belongs to the resistance, instead of the 2 out of 3 that was in the earlier mission.

Why my answer (is probably) gonna be no? Because I don't trust Molly... yet... *interesting, scribbles on notes*

There are 3 things I assume need to be "addressed": my card distribution, my team selection, and my vote.

As for my card distribution, you're right in that I went counter to my play last game. But here's how last game broke down. Eden and I were assured of each other from moment 1, and the entire game was about me and Eden vs. 4 spies, with 4 Resistance members in the dark. It wasn't "fun" to play that gambit for me, even though we won. And, if I remember right, people spent half the game calling THAT move suspicious. I didn't want to bite twice from the same poisoned apple, so to speak. So, I changed up the strategy a bit to have more somewhat knowledgeable people than less fully-knowledgeable people. I kept NO CONFIDENCE because that card almost buried us last game, and anyone else I gave it to had a 44% chance of being a spy. I had to ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE with someone whose allegiance I didn't know; choosing a new player to the game, who I've talked to plenty outside the game, was to try and discern allegiance through response. I could have kept OVERHEARD CONVERSATION for myself, and I STRONGLY considered it, but then I'd have kept 2 of the 3 cards, leading to undue suspicion and ruining credibility I'm going to need as the game progresses. Again, I picked someone (higher up the list) who hadn't played before, to start to suss out how the response would be worded.
