People of Sleuthville, lend me your ears!
I call out now to all you tomb-raiders and treasure seekers! To those who love the thrill of a good treasure hunt!

In the spirit of friendly competition i propose a challenge.
This challenge will require 10 adventurous detectives to be split onto 2 Teams, each team consisting of 5 members, in 2 newly made Agencies of my own making in NY.

These two agencies will compete against each other in Treasure Hunts.
The first team to get their agency to 7,000 Fame wins:

$200,000 Prize to be split among the team evenly.
(Working out to $40,000 a piece for each teammate...not too shabby huh?)
Also each team after the contest ends will vote amongst themselves on who alone among their team was MVP (someone who went above and beyond, did a really excellent job, etc) The MVP's from Both teams will win a 3 month gift subscription from me personally.
You also win bragging rights and honor for your home agencies on being an awesome treasure hunter.
Whether your team chooses single or multi-city hunt strategy is entirely up to you.

Obviously this competition will run for a while, (I'm venturing a guess at anywhere between 2 weeks to a month depending on how luck smiles on you or how good you and your teammates are).

It goes without saying that you would be required to resign temporarily from whatever agency you are currently in to join my competing agencies for the contest. You are allowed to enter an alternate detective if you wish if you're too attached to have your main detective leave your agency, and the only rules are:

1) Absolutely NO Password Sharing.
2) Only one entry per contestant
3) Have fun.

I want to know who among you treasure hunters really has what it takes to come together and co-ordinate as a team to truly be the best.

(Cont'd)

Biggie. I am not even talking about the game. And I know what facts it involved when I said it was legitimate. I don't know how else I could say that.

You say that someone was hurt because of some post that says what agency X did was wrong, bad whatever. That gave you the right to get mad, in your words.

Talk about an agency, and someone gets hurt by how others view certain styles of game playing?

Well what happens when you actually imply that people can do abhorrent stuff only to win a game? Like saying that people just went boohoo and started accusing you -which is not true by the way- because you are good etc?

You weren't so fine with it when I said I just disagreed with you. It was you who asked the question. It was you who said "well you started a hunt in Delhi?" You are the one who said "well what do you expect, do you expect people to quit an ongoing hunt just because you're in a contest?", which was something that I never said. Please do not forget that.

And complain about it? All I did was answer your question. In barchat. What have you been doing on the board? You can get mad, when you talk you never complain... And you know every one too well. Alright.

Eden I can't even begin to understand what you're talking about right now. Let me try point by point and maybe by the end it'll make sense to me.

1. If we're not talking about the game, what are we talking about?

2. Someone's feelings were hurt because of the implication that her agency was intentionally trying to block the Raiders from winning a hunt by winning a hunt that they were already in prior to the Raiders joining it. I did get angry about that, because she's my friend and an honest player who brings a lot to the game and the community (as does everyone in Al Q) and I don't think its right for people to imply her or her agencymates are doing anything wrong.

3. If by "style of gameplaying" you mean "winning a hunt" (which your agency does a lot of as well), then yeah if you view it as bad, it doesnt make much sense does it?

4. Who is doing something abhorrent to win a game? I never said anyone was. I thought it was abhorrent to say WE were doing anything wrong! I never said I was good at the game, if thats what you're saying I thank you for that. I'm not even close to where I was five years ago.

5. I didnt bring this subject up in chat, you did. And its irrelevant here, really. Your agency chose not to hunt that one. I understand that, but if they did, I wouldn't have cared. That's their choice. And I would never expect anyone to quit, but that was the implication you made.

6. Youre constantly complaining about some aspect of the game or another, whether its on the threads, or in chat. Sure I complain sometimes when its warranted but youre overkilling it.

Pretty non-sensical still. Feel free to drop by and chat with me about it if you want, I'm there :)

1. It's your attitude Biggie: "and when you win, we'll be pissed that we lost but not because we're accusing anyone of bad behavior, cheating or anything related. But because we got beat by an agency who got the favors they needed to win the hunt before we did."

I logged in barchat and asked about it there(today) first. I referred to it in all my posts. What I am saying seems so clear. It's in the previous posts, I have no intention to overstate it.

2. I've answered this twice already.

3. Style of gamplaying: you do it, we don't do it. Simple.

4. Saying that involving other agencies in the contest is wrong is one thing and that people got pissed because they were beaten, however they attributed it to other reasons is something else. Now if that's not what you meant in the quoted text, can you tell me what it means?

5. I logged in barchat said "heehee i knew you'd play legitimately dirty" and when Andi asked about it and called me a liar, I smiled and logged off to do my cases.

Then you whispered the next day if you could ask a question to which I said "of course, go on" and you said "what did you mean when you said we played dirty" and I said "I just meant toohey's doing the same hunt we're doing in london. that is all"

You missed the whisper so I sent this PM:

"Biggie, I know it's not against the rules and that's why I said it was legitimate earlier... I just meant that Ms Helen was doing the same TH we were doing in London. I mean the A1 Q Toohey is.

I asked Zan and Beef about this earlier and all... You know, I'm a total rookie in this thing, I think it's not exactly cheating, but it seems to be against the purpose of the contest... But then the whole Noir experience is as unfair as the number of multiple accounts and sidekicks could get, and it's not more important than people having fun :) We'll not do the same thing with our alts' agencies... I just hope they will let it slip, I might have made a mistake pointing it out. I guess they were aware of it anyway... Dunno :) Not a big deal I guess."

And then you said you see it but that the gave would involve such a chaotic factor was agreed on by the participants. And then I said "Biggie I think that chaotic factor was not supposed to include our alts' agencies, but others?

But please do not make Toohey stop anything. I mean I don't know, it's you guys' thing, I don't know the TH contest traditions lol. But personally, I wouldn't wanna do that ;) Whatever. "

1. Yes I did say that. I stand by it. I would be mad if we lost a hunt we'd been working on, but not mad AT the team that beat us.

2. Not that I could tell

3. Style of gamplaying: you do it, we don't do it. Simple.
DO WHAT? What are you referring to?

4. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking me here. Other agencies being in hunts is part of the contest. Who's pissed?

5. Why is Al Q being in that hunt playing dirty???

So Biggie

the other complaint you were talking about was only there to appreciate the pov that Sleuth couldn't proceed otherwise, these things had to happen.

So just because I said I didn't agree with it, and just because I said Sleuth multiple accounts and the number of cases one can solve doesn't seem to be fair, you are telling me that I am complaining.

Well that second complaint was made by you mods before in barchat.

Would you like me to remind when?

I am absolutely sick of this.

I'm not a mod Eden. Chat mod isn't the same thing.

I'd love to actually TALK to you about it, I am in chat if you want to discuss. Because clearly something isn't translating here.

I'm not sure that I'm happy that my agency is being dragged into this, so please let me set the records straight on a few matters:

Al-Q opened that hunt before the contest started. We were 2 favours in when the raiders opened it. By good fortune, the raiders got ahead of us. When the hunt hit NY, I used the 18 cases I had stored in my apartment to get the last favours we needed before Nicnic opened the safe.

Ms Helen (the detective) spent the duration of that hunt in Shanghai, doing editorial duties. It was discussed between the Directors of Al-Q, and she decided not to be involved in the hunt (even though she had every right to be). We even went so far into this that I did all my own cases this morning, and Helen very kindly took care of all the jobs I *should* have been doing before I left for work, so I could get it done.

She played no part in winning that treasure. Nobody asked us to join that hunt, and I was the one who decided it would be funny to see if we (meaning the remaining Al-Q members) could beat a team of assembled "super sleuths" at the thing they were trying to be best at.

Biggie made her post because she thought Beef was being serious. She wanted to put an end to things before they started. Helen was upset that she had been accused of playing dirty when she had no hand in the affairs. Beef apologised, and everything was fine, until this.

And, one last thing. We don't care who you are, or where you are from, but when you step into OUR back yard to play, expect to get bitten ;) If we choose to join a hunt, we shall, and if we beat you, well, that's just a shame ain't it?

What the heck is going on up in here? OK I am a mod, and would urge everyone to please keep it civil and remember this is just a contest in an online detective game :-)

Second of all, I have no idea what this is all about. I think Beefy was joking and just trash talking earlier. HOWEVER, if someone in this contest does not like the fact that my agency is THing while it's going on (which by the way I didn't sign up for the contest) well then all I have to say is tough patooties. Unless someone is going to volunteer to pay my agency bills for the next however many weeks this thing goes on. I am not in this contest, I made no commitment to anyone, and I am going to run this agency as I normally do, a big part of which is THing - as I'm sure the rest of the agencies in the Sleuth world are going to. There are 12 people in my agency and only one of them has joined this thing, using an alt. 11 of us have not agreed to put our Sleuth lives on hold because someone came up with a contest that we decided not to participate in.

I *think* maybe that's what is being discussed here? Not sure. But just wanted to clear that up :-)
