Once again, turmoil is brewing in the underground crime world of New York. The city is slowly being taken over by La Cosa Nostra, the New York underground mafia. They are recruiting members at record numbers and they can be seen in every night club and bar scaring away customers. And now Joseph Hollis, the High Philosopher of the Order of Socrates, and mayor of New York, has learned of a secret plan by his rival faction, La Cosa Nostra, to go on a crime spree and make off with money, valuables, and ultimate control of various establishments in New York.

Mr. Hollis, being not only concerned with the livelihoods of the patrons of his city, but also with his rival faction gaining too much power, has decided to put together a team of trusted Order of Socrates resistance operatives to foil the plans of La Cosa Nostra. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of attrition lately, and certain people have been going to the highest bidder to offer their services as a spy working from within the Order of Socrates. Joseph is aware of this and he's put together the best possible team he can think of, but unwittingly will be inviting some spies for La Cosa Nostra to his team of operatives.

As long as the loyal Order of Socrates operatives can figure out whom amongst them is untrustworthy, their mission should be a success. But if they trust the wrong people, La Cosa Nostra will succeed and cause severe damage to the New York economy, while gaining enough power to take over the city.

Will the mayor and his team be able to restore order to New York? Or will the underground mafia, take over the city's resources? That's for you to decide in this version of The Resistance: Order of Socrates Restores Order

This worked out great for us!
I'm glad you used your ability to unveil Jason Arends, Eden; it's exactly what I would have done in your shoes. Now we know that Jason's upcoming mission proposal can NOT be trusted.

In addition, I ended up with "IN THE SPOTLIGHT", which means I can make a potential spy think twice about wanting to play sabotage.

As far as this mission goes, you picked the perfect team, Eden. You, me, and Illicit are all confirmed Resistance, and Ms Helen at least "acted" Resistance, which for now is good enough for me.

The Resistance is in a GREAT position here. Assuming we win this mission, then the spies are REALLY hard-pressed to find a way to fail 3 in a row. And now that Jason is out in the open, I feel very comfortable that we could win this in only 3 missions.

Vote (YES!!!!) sent.

I voted NO on the first mission just to find out more informations about people patterns of voting. Usually the first mission gets voted down, not in here though, as I see.
The mission was a success, which means two things: it consisted only of Resistance members (this being delicious, as I am a resistance from the first edition of this game) or, somebody was a spy and covered for himself. Now, the second team being almost the same, for sure I will vote YES (if only resistance there we will have another success and force the spies to play openly after, or, if sabotaged, we will see that not all the 4 names mentioned earlier to be resistance for sure, really are). Mission 2, Team 1, YES.

I'm sure a lot of people voted "no" just to get some info from multiple mission proposals, Cekuray. Like I said, I didn't suspect anyone who did of being a spy, but for my own info-gathering purposes I wanted to hear people's reasoning :)

Yeah Jason, don't even bother trying to defend yourself. We've got you dead to rights, my good man. :)

Jason your dead body looks so good. What a shame :)

Not only should the Resistance abort the next mission but also make sure that the succeeding mission gets approval so that the spies this time will have to come out of the closet in order to survive in the game. So I totally agree with Serges. It's become clear that we have been acting with the same intentions.

If Cekuray is telling the truth we'll have absolute victory, as more of the Resistance will be revealed by then and the previous accomplishments will assure them that at least the three of us, that is Serges, Illicit and I are Resistance.

If not, we'll have many of the spies revealed because there's no point in hiding anyway if that's going to be our last mission. I have a strong belief that we'll have this one both ways.

Ok so I read this thread at 3am this morning...big mistake I thought it gave me a headache, I've just read it again and I still have a headache :)

BTW Serges my reason for voting no was quite simple really. I went eeny meeny minee mo and it landed on 'no'. You know what they say about simple minds right? :)

Same for me on this one. I'm really not sure I trust how easily everyone figures out their resistance. Plus, I didn't see you guys at the meeting! I brought cookies!

This should be the last time I vote no just for fact finding though. I think it's hard to figure out who's who when it's the same team every time.

Ok Sleuthers here is the problem with voting no for fact finding...the game isn't primarily about sussing out who is what faction. That is the fun and frustrating part but primarily it is about getting through missions without getting sabotaged. While trying to work out who is a spy is important if you have a team that you know is safe there isn't any reason to vote it down even if you don't know who may be spies outside of that team.
