I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

Ooh! Cards! I love cards! I'm curious as to the point of the Opinion Maker card though...because everybody sees what you voted on to reject or accept the mission anyway...so isn't it kind of like...*waves hand* superfluous? I'll take it though, I love presents. :)

Danny, I just don't think that Cek could hide it that well if he were a spy. I'm pretty sure it's his first time playing and if he is a spy, he's playing this extremely well and hiding it really well. Everything he is saying is logical if he is Resistance. Next time around, I wouldn't be trusting him at this point, but because it's our first game I would assume that the spies wouldn't be able to play like that considering no one really knew how to play (except Illicit).

I mean Special K is a spy. And look how she's playing compared to Cek. Special K is just throwing random crap out there that no one believes. LMAO. Cek actually makes sense and has been following a good strategy if he's Resistance. Special K as Resistance makes NO SENSE though given her erratic behavior ;-)

Also... give ME THE CARD. I wanna trust you.

*just saw thing about Cek*
Oh. Well that works too. Actually thats an interesting spin, Danny. I didn't really give much consideration to Cek, but there is a distinct possibility there.

As to Confidence Card, both are good choices. We've pretty much solidly established Jason as Resistance at this point- at least from where I stand, ya'll may feel a little different- but I definitely think he is. Therefore, I think we could trust him to tell the truth about Dannys allegiance- or at least keep that knowledge as Resistance.

Course Nic is a good choice. She is the obvious, vocal leader. I just feel like, if its Cek thats the spy on the mission- and there is that alarming possibility, then Nics camp is pretty shaky. I don't know, and its pretty down to the wire.

I feel like with the spies ahead, I'd rather go with that which is established and true, and that in my eyes is Jason. I'm curious to hear others weigh in!

Special K admited she is a spy and she knows the identity of the other 2. She admited as well that Illicit is very illicit in this game. nicnic, myself and Jason are resistance (the votes as well were 3-1). My opinion is that Danny is 80 percent Resistance. We have to choose from Molly and Marc. My money are on Marc, as he was very upset in a post in the beginning of the game about him being a spy and also voted Yes for a mission with spies on it. I think he didn't want to be discovered so quickly, helping us with his reaction. Ok, these are my thoughts.
What I don't understand now is why other 2 resistance operatives don't try to help their side winning this game.
Danny is just asking if he is to vote NO or Yes to the missions. Molly, if you are resistance, please tell us your opinion on who do you suspect and make it a logical one. All the time till now you just talked about yourself, being or not being a spy. Give us please your thinking about the facts that happened till now and who do you think are the spies. Try and help the Resistance if you are one.
In conclusion: Special K and Illicit are spies. Illicit told the truth about Jason, him being resistance, because, if not, she would've give herself out to Jason, accusing herself. nicnic and myself are resistance. Any other thoughts?

Also, I've been thinking about this whilst unpacking. And I've decided in my head that Special K, Illicit, and Marc are the spies.

Marc chose Special K to go on the first mission, and gave Illicit probably the most powerful card in the game which was to reveal someone's identity. Molly voted SUCCEED on the first mission. And Danny Mack seems to be playing from the standpoint of Resistance.

Also, Special K was pointing fingers at Molly as being the third spy.

So that's where I'm at right now.

Thats a good point, Cek. Let me review everything up to this point and I'll lay out a conclusive report from the desk of the Maltese herself. *swirls furs and hits First Page button*

I also did like Molly's observation about Marc's earlier "freak out" being a ruse, which I must admit I thought so myself.

I'm settled. :-)

And I didn't even have to make a spreadsheet.

Alright. I've reviewed everything thus far, and it may be a disappointment to state that I am only positive of two spies. Those are Special_K and Marc.

Special K- She sabotaged the first mission, and proceeded to accuse someone of being a spy who HAD to be Resistance (Jason) because Illicit has played this game before, and wouldn't make such an obvious mistake to lie about allegiance that early on. At least in my opinion.

Marc Lacrimosa- -Marc did not choose himself for the first mission/ card choices, which although may be a sign of simple game inexperience, was also a suspicious move in and of itself.
-"Marcs Freakout"- herein noted as undue aggression and sensitivity over accusations of being a spy. Later blamed on RL aggression. Classified as a weak excuse.
-Marc tried to push the third mission through, of a team with suspected spies

Those two, I would bet on. With the third it gets a little murky because it reflects several different methods of gameplay on the part of some of these individuals, and I think this is where many of us draw a little short.

Danny Mack stood out in my mind after she was quick to garner public opinion on three people after the second mission. Also something she said about following a vote of Nicnics. Maybe its pure suspicion on my part, but I felt it was a move to signify a solidarity that wasn't necessarily there, as if hitching herself to nics wagon she might escape focus. At least thats how I read, but again, a vague suspicion.

Illicit is a definite possibility, but I feel like it would be more underhanded on her part. I don't know how convinced I am about illicit honestly. Definitely undecided.

Cek and Nic both occupy the same place in my mind. I am inclined to think they are Resistance but I am still a little hesitant too, as that would make their masquerade all the more astounding should they prove to be spies.

It definitely gets a little tricky with the third. Im more inclined to believe its Danny_Mack or Illicit.

My gut says Danny_Mack, but I wouldn't sign, seal and deliver that judgment prematurely, either.
