I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

*rolls eyes to ceiling*

No no no, you aren't looking at this properly at all. The spies know who is who, yes, but we don't know who they are. How easy is it for a spy to say "success" then, even when they desire "sabotage" to avoid detection? One could play an entire game like that, especially with all of us sitting here speculating on each individual, making it childs play for them to avoid detection just by posing as a team player the minute the eye falls on them until it roves somewhere else?

Good lord woman, you are insisting we chase our own tails repeatedly and expect results from it. The goal is to try new things, scheme, be underhanded, unexpected so that it isn't easy for Player A to think "Oh, Nicnic thinks its me because I did this, I shall simply have to jump to accuse someone else and then I will be safe because the conflagration of the mob mentality is all-encompassing at this point."

Stop letting all your logic hang out willy-nilly like a road map for the villains, you'll never properly catch a spy that way. Haha!

Molly selected a fine team of names for this mission. Truly helps, after we see the voting situation. After voting, we will have a nother name for sure (good or wrong). Vote sent.

2 observations:
- resistance operatives should vote NO for the missions where there are spies. We are not forced to vote YES for each mission. We should have at least 5 votes of No for this mission.
- Molly started hamming. :D

Hi, have we met? I'm Molly.

Hamming is what I do. To deny you of this, why, its a grievous offense of pure civic duty. :P

Hi Molly! Enchante! :D
I hope you will hold no grudge on me if I tell you are a spy. In fact, even before this game started I was joking that Maltese has spying resonance. :D It was a joke then.. is coming true now. :) Let's wait and see! Good luck to you!

Cekuray, darling, I admire your poetry but really, I do think you're counting your chickens well before they hatch.

No Molly... it's just that I've never known Special K to be quiet, confused or otherwise ;-) Which made it all weird. I kept asking myself why Special K hadn't posted anything. And then lo and behold she goes on a mission and it fails and only THEN does she post, because she pretty much had to at that point.

HA you've never known me to be that confused before.

I am getting a very strong feeling that you all think I'm a spy (because you keep saying that). I am NOT a spy. Illicit and Jason have you right where they want you, believing they are resistance.

I'm voting no on this mission because after letting the Resistance win the last round, there's no way that Illicit can NOT sabotage this mission. I'm pretty sure nic and cekuray are Resistance, and when Illicit sabotages, she'll make it look like it was me, which it won't be.

Viva la Resistance!

Scapegoating!
Trickery abounds!
Who do you trust?

You see why I distributed such gifts among these opposing forces? It simply is too delicious.

The votes are in, and the mission proposal was REJECTED 6-2.
Here's the voting record:
Special_K: NO
M. Lacrimosa: YES
Jason Arends: YES
Molly Maltese: NO
Illicit: NO
Cekuray: NO
Danny Mack: NO
Nicnic: NO

So, this means that leadership will move down the line to Illicit, unless Special_K or Jason Arends decide to use "STRONG LEADER" now.
So Special_K, Jason, will either of you use your ability?
If you both choose not to, then it will fall on Illicit to propose a new team for this mission.

Please post your decisions here.
