Cases locked or unusable during Villain Hunts

During a Villain hunt, as we all know, we’re in total lock down, apart from sending or reading emails, and posting threads on the message boards. As the game states, we’re on our own and don’t have access to agency files, agent’s cases, or favors with merchants. I know there are travel kits that can be won when solving the Doomsayer Scripted Mysteries, etc., which helps in travel, however, we need every case on these hunts. So is it possible to fix it to where all cases are usable for the day? For example, once we find our Villain’s hiding place, and we just happen to not have enough cases to travel to our next destination, could those few cases be unlocked? Here’s an example, as follows, to-wit:

Today I traveled to Delhi, and was able to find all clues to find the Villain’s hiding place, however, since I only had two cases left, I couldn’t travel on to London, because I needed three cases. Now since I can't open these cases they will be lost when the game resets at 1AM, and that's fine:D

This may have may have been discussed already, and please know I'm certainly not complaining, for I'm happy with the way things are. I realize the game is programmed to automatically do task, and any change may be difficult, or not worthwhile :)

The only work around I have found, if I understand your point correctly, is to NOT attempt to capture the villian even though I know where they are. That way I can continue to solve cases for the day and start the next day with a fresh slate. I don't get any closer to solving the AVH, but I do get the EPs

I agree that it would be a nice touch to be able to carry the extra cases from the day to use for travel the next day.

Once the VH is moving to another town, all the cases you have left (if they are not enough for travelling) are locked, cannot access them. So, lost cases, you cannot work any experience on them. The hunt blocks you for the day if you cannot travel.

Thanks Peter & Cekuray, for helping me just use my head, which I didn't, LOL! What it boils down to is a person needs to use common sense, before making a rash decision.

Hopefully this thread wasn't pointless. Perhaps new players can read this and know what they shouldn't do. Maybe I should have named this thread: "WHAT- NOT-TO-DO on VILLAIN HUNTS." *Wink*

Many apologies - I hadn't realised that my post would be a spoiler! And thanks Lady J for putting things right :)

LOL, whatever it was, I know it was helpful, and I appreciate the effort.
Well, today I got my workout in London, while trying to get those needed clues to find where my Villain is hiding. So out of 12 cases I won 11, and out of 11, here is the clues I received, as follows:

Nine (9) ..........NOT close to the River to smell it
Two (2)............South of the Detective Shop

One(1)...........I lost it! It was probably that one-time-quick-solve-clue..LOL!

Well, probably not, but talk about clues being LOL, whatever it was, I know it was helpful, and I appreciate the effort.

Well, probably not, but talk about clues being repetitive. What is it with everybody in London and that River? *Wink*

So starting last night from Shangri La, I opened my first case and it was South of the Detective Shop. As you can see from my list above, my progess is slow today. Personally I don't see how anybody wins a VH contest in one day or two, unless you know something I don't. I'm practicing these hunts to get faster at solving the cases, in hopes of joining future contest, however, at the rate I'm going today, I don't think I stand a chance.

Just wondering, how many others have fund redundant cases in one City/Country? Is this something that happens the majority of the time? Thanks, guess I'm taking a poll here! Thx~Deb

Okay, where's Lady Jas.........I need a quick delete...LOL! This time I swear it wasn't my fault. I typed my message then the internet froze and knocked me out of here before I could click "Post Reply," then when I came back my message was gone. So I retyped it and as you can see it's redundant...geez. Oh how I wish I had an "Edit Button," so I could make the necessary corrections, hint, hint....*Wink, wink*

I realize an Edit Button, (Like Facebook has), could be a problem. For instance, if you're able to come back later and delete, or change the thread, then that leaves everybody elses responses hanging there, and leaving others wondering what in the world are they talking about? However, if we could make changes immediately, then once we left that post and came back, we wouldn't be allowed to make changes to that thread. Does this makes sense guys? I know the Moderators have the option to delete threads, and understandably so, as you pointed out Summer. *Cheers*

And what I meant by "left that post," was once we go to another thread, or back to our agency, or whatever the heck we go, then when we come back to our thread, we can't make changes. We can only edit our mistakes right then and there, before leaving that thread room. I'm sure you guys got it, but just in case it was "thick as mud," hopefully this cleared it up. Okay, I'm done, outta here, and done until I get 12 more cases.

Okay, gotta catch me a Villain........"Watch out Judge Derreniger, I'm on your tail":D

CORRECTION: "Or whereever the heck we go"...................oh yeah boy, I'm on a roll.....LOL! I think I better quit while I'm ahead. Goodbye ya'll.

(And everybody in Sleuthville claps and yells, "Hurray, DaRu's gone for the day!")

Yes DaRu, repeating clues are usual in Sleuthville's villain hunts. That's why the reward is worthwhile as well. So, no worries here. The good thing is that you are solving 11/12 cases a day. With a bit of luck, your hunts will go real faster from today on. Good luck on nabbing that outlaw!
