What: An Arch-Villain Hunt Tournament
When: Starts Jan. 9 (a Monday)
Who: Anyone subscribed: newbies, intermediate, and advanced players

Prizes!
Winners (yes, that is plural) will win 3-month gift subscriptions. If there are 7 or more in a category, runner-ups will win 1-month gift subscriptions. If you are just starting out or been around since the start of Sleuth Noir, there is a category for you.

Categories will be:
Jack Rabbits (sleuths with less than a million points)
Jackalopes (sleuths with less than 10 million points)
Old Dragons (8 figure sleuths)
Note: You cannot enter more than one category. Your category will stay with you as to where you are when you accept your round 1 mission from the prince.

Competition will be head-to-head. No teams, simply individual. Very simple. To reduce the blind luck factor, there will be playoffs as follows:
2-3 competitors: Best 2 out of 3 with all competitors
4-6 competitors: Top 2 sleuths will have a sudden death playoff.
7-9 competitors: Top 3 in sudden death
10 or more: a 2nd round will be announced where the top half will advance.

You can start your AVH anytime on January 9. Entries starting after that date will not count (except by special permission). If you fail your AVH, you are simply outâ€"so be careful. Subsequent rounds will start January 16. January 16 may be pushed back depending on the results of the 1st round. You are timed simply on the day you finish. NOT on the time of day. Don’t want anyone feeling like they have to start at a particular time of the day to be competitive. Only whole days will be counted, and YES, there may be ties. Any category must have 2 or more contestants to be viable.

Special Note: If January 9 is a bad day for you and you still want to enter this contest, please state so in a reply. Also state what date you can start. Reasonable requests will be accommodated, and only your total days on your AVH will be counted.

There are a few sleuths in this contest that have hardly logged on at all, and have not done so since last Sunday. Reluctantly, I am no longer considering the following sleuths in regards to their standings. They are Botsie, Amira, Little C, and Curley.

It is not for us to say anything bad about this. We all know that real life has a way of impeding our best intents. I just wish I knew what the issues were. In any case, I wish these four all the best, and hope they compete again in a future AVH contest.

Please note that the PumpkinKing was incorrect about the competition being over for the Rabbits. There are still 2nd place prizes in the Rabbit category. NOBODY QUIT!

There are also 2nd place prizes in the Jack-A-Lope category. The Dragon and Road Runner categories have only prizes for 1st place.

Meanwhile, more sleuths are crossing the finish line:

Friday Robinson is our first Road Runner
Riza Hawkeye is our first Dragon

These 3 will also receive 3-month subscriptions.

There are still more out there hunting, and still more prizes to be earned! As of today, every single sleuth in this final round still has a shot at a prize.

@ Vivian - it's horrrrible when that happens. It can seem that the game database is conspiring against you. A real test of patience and perseverance. Keep going - you are nearly there :)

Can you tell us Queen who is in the race for the second place in Rabbits section? You already gave 1st place prizes to three of us. Who is still competing for second place?

Congrats to all finishing their hunts. I'm sorry if I gave the wrong information when I said that the hunt was over for the Rabbits - what I meant was that there will be no round 3 organized through this tournament. However, since Alexis and hopefully Fleur accepts to go for another round I'd say we'd continue with the same rules as we've had so far and start our next round January 23, this Monday.

Is that okay with you Alexis and Fleur?

Too bad you couldn't join us Si. I have to say I had you down as favourite to win the Rabbits...

Well done to all those who finished today. It has been quite an event.

@ P King and Alexis: yes I am game to do one more (unofficial) round starting next Monday (23 Jan). My money is on both/either of you to win!

And good luck to the other Rabbits (Si and Vivian??) who will go on to compete for the runner up prize. Happy sleuthing :)
