Giving a shoutout to all my U.S. friends! Happy Thanksgiving!!! I am so blessed to have a Savior that reigns, family, close friends, and all the little things in life that we don't notice like food, clothes, health, etc.

Let's take a moment to give thanks for all we have today, and remember that there are many people that have less than us and would trade places with us in an instant!

God Bless you, my friends!

I drove past Best Buy yesterday (Wednesday) and saw tents already lined up by the front. The store was still open for normal business, but the people were already lined up for Black Friday.

My family's tradition is to avoid all store the day after Thanksgiving. Very different from yours! he he he

When I was in my teens, many decades ago, for a holiday job I used to catch chickens. You'd go into a big shed, and there'd be thousands of chooks, and you'd grab them by the feet and throw them into plastic crates and those crates would be stacked on a truck and off they'd go to chicken heaven. Sounds kinda wrong, right.

Anyway the reason I tell this childhood anecdote is coz the first year I did this, around late November we rocked up to a shed and the boss brought out a box and we were issued with thick leather gloves, goggles much like Ima's, and cricket protectors (which I believe would be akin to a 'cup' in US slang) the doors to the shed were opened and there were some of the biggest, meanest, turkeys looking back at us.

You caught one at a time... they did not want to be caught.

There was generally a lot of running around and squawking... and the turkeys were noisy too!

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it! Eat an ornery bird for me!

Thank you, LJ. You are 100% correct that we all should be thankful for all the little things that matter, but we often give no thought to. On the larger things, I am blessed by good family, stable income, and sometimes even good health.

And a Savior that reigns.

Syne, our family did eat an ornery bird. There are wild turkeys where we live, but the folks around here tend to ignore them and simply go to the store. Plucking the feathers off a large turkey is highly over-rated.
