The Problematical Puzzle of the Unknown Corpse
Victim: Quincy Wickland, age 36
Difficulty: Ridiculously hard
Reward: $800

Hints

Waitress: Ignatius Leatherman thinks he knows who the murderer is.
Music Teacher: Nicholas Goforth thinks he knows who the murderer is.
Butcher: Herbert Wickland hasn't heard or seen anything suspicious.


the problem is, i had check both ignatius and nicholas weather they had seen heard anything to suspect somebody. both say no to edward clyfton. so i go eliminate edward and try to find the other, but i cant find any. so i accuse the only 1 i had not check yet, ignatius.

The real killer was Edward Clyfton.

You falsely accused an innocent man. There was no physical or witness evidence to indicate that Ignatius was the murderer. If you falsely accuse three people, your detective's license will be taken, and you'll be out of a job.


is it possible that 2 hints from waitress and music teacher was lying to me?

You'll note Hasudungan that the hint says the person THINKS he knows who the murderer is. In other words, he has Witness Evidence but it may be against a suspect with a real alibi.

Just as Physical Evidence points to people with real alibis, so does Witness Evidence. Those two people you asked most likely had Witness Evidence against people with Real alibis. This is why, unless you know the suspect's alibi is fake, you need two statements of Witness Evidence against a suspect rather than just one. Only the guilty suspect will have two.

looks like you still dont get what i mean.

- ignatius and nicholas thinks they know who the murderer is.
- i had eliminate 2 suspect that have fake alibi by asking shoemaker and banker
- edward have fake alibi
- i had check both ignatius and nicholas to point at edward, and both say no.
- after both say no to edward, i only have 1 more suspect that i cant ask from ignatius and nicholas (both were clammed), so i think this suspect is quilty.

i know about the formula, i am not asking about why i falsely accused. what i want to know is, is it possible 2 hints will not saying the truth? because ignatius and nicholas are clearly failed.

I think I get you. Yes, it is possible that both Ignatius and Nicholas will point at someone not guilty. They only 'think' they know who the murderer is. Tow of the other suspects that you didn't question must have had the WE. These two were just red herrings :)

alright, this is new for me, because usually i can only find 1 WE point to someone not guilty. thanks a lot secret squirrel
