Have you just had your best day of Sleuthing ever? Solved your first AI case? Got your last contact? Picked up your first treasure? Found a spoon? Finally got into the Prince's Palace?*

This is the place to share the joy, have a 'woot' or two and be congratulated by your fellow Sleuths.

Or maybe you've just had to pay Shady enough cash to finance a small war. Or reached screaming point with the tailor in Delhi. Or been pirated twice in a row. Or fallen into a trap three times running. You can share the woe, too, and we'll commiserate. We've probably been there too.

Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

(* If you don't get the references, never mind. You could ask someone. Or you could just wait and see what the world of Sleuth brings you further down the line...)

How was my sleuth day? It was going so well. Last city of AVH hunt . Villain identified - the shoemaker. Checked everything on Blue Pagoda's lovely NYC map. Changed back to Noir tab to convict and finger slipped before I could change from the default 'Bartender' to the real culprit.

Heart sink moment. I wonder how often something like that has happened to people?

Eesh; that's happened quite a few times on Sleuth, St Valentine. I'm very paranoid once I get to that page, and don't go anywhere near the accuse button until I have the right person lined up - once that's done, I click somewhere outside the page so that the scrolling list of townies is inactive before I accuse. Also I stare accusingly at the page the whole time, that probably helps. I think there was talk of adding a confirmation page before a co-conspirator is accused - that would be a great modification!

I like the idea of staring accusingly at the page . Sounds quite appealing. Will try that next time.

Also, a confirmation page would be an excellent addition. Excellent suggestion. I think I'll flag that up on Yeti's 'small updates' thread.

Thanks for the advice, Bela : )

It's happened to me to St. Valentine. Don't let it slip you up, there will be plenty more for you to capture, and with even more of a vengeance! :D

It's happened to me as well. I also found that the bar ber was the co-conspirator only to go and accused the bar tender. Sadly I don't think a confirmation page would have helped me on that one. But I do think it is a good idea to have a confirmation page.

^ Have you seen how those pets grow, Bad Ass? Check out Riza's "puppy" and Tyranomaster3's "kitten". You might change your mind about wanting a pet ...

As for me, it took a great deal of yesterday and all of today to get the one remaining clue I needed in NYC. So many repeats. So many cases with multiple PE and alibis needed from same PE townie. More than a few quits. And finally, get the clue, ready to move to next city- but only 3 cases left. Four needed for Delhi. But at least I get out of NYC : )

Yes, that was a smart design. Once you have a pet you need to keep feeding it. So we're hooked to those furores by a guilt trip :/

You know, quitting favour cases in order to get the contact you want is just one of the most tiresome things in a detective's life. Ho hum - back to the vodka bottle.
