I find it unfair that the weekly high scores do NOT count your favors when tallying the solved case side of the scores. Yet if you fail a favor case, it DOES count on the failed side.

Can anyone explain that logic?

I never knew that - mind you, it's been so long since I looked at the weekly high scores that I'm not sure they even showed failed/quit cases at all the last time!

You could always email Ben and ask him why it's like that.
