Attention ladies and gentlemen, at the request of several players, I am proud to announce the Sleuthville AVH Tournament 2011! *trumpets blare and streamers fly*

The format will be 16 detectives, randomly paired off into teams of two by a third party, to face one other team. For this competition, players going through Cairo will have a day taken off their totals. The winning team will be the one with the lowest combined number of days for hunt completion. Failed hunts will not count against you. You will not be disqualified. If you fail your hunt and would like to start another, you may, but the day count will start from the official start date of the round. Irene will be tracking progress using her new program, so this can be considered as further testing.

The rules:

You may:
-travel to Shangri La the night before, but NOT start the hunt
-use a travel kit
-use head of faction privileges
-use agencies and apartments to swap gear

You may not (enforced only by the honor code):
-use sidekick cases (for either clues or travel)
-enter second/third detectives, etc.

The winning team(s) from each round will go on to the next round until a winning team is determined. In the case of a tie, both teams will move on to compete in a triple threat pair matchup. The last team standing wins. Anyone who would like to join, please POST here. Participants will be gathered on a first-come, first-served basis. The first matches will start on Monday, April 25, 2011.

Each following round of the competition will start on the next Monday at 0:00 sleuth server time, unless one of the matches takes longer than expected. In that case things will be adjusted accordingly and you will be updated as soon as possible.

Essentially everyone will have the same day count no matter what. The count is days in the tournament, not days in your individual hunt. The only exception being if you went through Cairo on your successful hunt. If you finish on Day 4 of the tournament having gone through Cairo, your total points will be 3. If you finish on Day 5 of the tournament having not gone through Cairo, your total points will be 5.

Last round I failed my hunt on Day 2. I traveled back to Shangri-La and started a new one, four days later I finished on Day 6 of the tournament. Because I had gone through Cairo, I got a deduction of one day, but the days from my failed hunt still counted against me. So I had a total of 5 points since it had been 6 days since this round started, minus one because I went through Cairo.

Arch Villain Caught!
The notorious criminal Mordred "Monkey Face" Musgrave was brought to justice by Magdalene after a painstaking hunt in which the heroic detective successfully tracked the villain around the world.

Finally! I have had the worst luck with this tournament! Lots of pirates during traveling, tons of repeated clues and people clamming up!

I have now added the next round to the hunt. For those of you reading the bracket layout, please bear over with the fact that this round is also called 2...

If I am correct, I believe that this last round is a final match between 4 teams. - and we might have a winning team in the end of this week?

Good luck to everyone. Seems like in this tournament everything can happen. (To be honest, I am very surprised to have come this far myself)

The match-up for Round 3 of the tournament is as follows:

Two Flatfoots and a Cat vs. The Pen is Mightier vs. TIA Operatives vs. Peachikkas (?)

This may or may not be the last round of the competition depending on if there are any ties. Fight for the win. Good luck to all! :)

Good Mornin' Blues, how do you do!
Recently incarcerated villains Isabella "No-Hand" Adler and Jezebel "the Cleaner" Wanstrath have in turn captured the hearts of citizens across the world with their soulful rendition of Bessie Smith's 'Jail-House Blues'. All proceeds of the recording will go to AVAPT. Spokesperson for that most philathropic of organisations Baroness Magda Malatesta decried the injustices perpertrated upon 'zese two lovely ladies' as they 'suffered at ze hands of moralistic connivance'. 'Well might my zisters zing ze blues! Vy do you know', she exclaimed, 'Zey are not even allowed to wear zere foxtail boas in ze prison!'
