As per the Noir Newsletter...

We've distributed some new rare prize drops around the broad expanse of *NOIR* Sleuthville. (Noir having a much broader err 'expanse' than Shades lol)

Challenge yourself to find these eye catching, uniquely colour-toned, in-game items. Of course how you challenge yourself with something that is fairly random, is beyond me, but by all means go right ahead :)

Okay,I'm lost here...Will these items just appear in pop-ups while we're solving cases or will we have to search the map?

You'll be able to find through different means. Sometimes it will be whilst in a particular area, sometimes whilst collecting a reward or handing in an item. In all cases (and I'm not 100% sure how Ben set this up - as I myself haven't yet gotten lucky enough to collect one of these 'rares') you'll be able to collect the item if and when it actually 'proc's'. I'm sure it's just a 'do you want to take the X'. You might be asked to store a current item in order to collect (as it is a hand slot item you are collecting) but I think Ben has it so that you can just pick that item up afterwards, if you visit the same place it came from.

Okay I will reveal a spoiler
As SS mentioned you must not be afraid of dark places to find one of these items. You really have to embrace the darkness to see and touch them. All these items can be found from those brave enough to enter the dungeons under our trophy room in the Crypt.

Tell me,can these items be disguised as regular items except that when you click on them,they aren't?If that's the case,I'm going to bang my head against the wall.

I've been searching and still nothing!I'm starting to think they're probably somewhere in some dark cave or somewhere I'm restricted to...

"proc" means err it's kind of a gaming term, it means like 'chance on hit'.

Basically you do the action required, or you pass through a place, or receive an object and the game does two inhouse dice rolls (basically). You get say "67" as your roll and then it rolls again from out of say from 1000. If the game rolls 67 and it matches your 67 you 'win'. The item will 'appear' so to speak. This isn't 'exactly' how it works (yes nerds I know this), but if you imagine it this way it kind of makes sense to your general player.

In general the rares are for people who are looking for extra things to do or are already at end game. So even the most basic task where you have a chance to find a rare requires you to be able to travel. You may have to do these things many many many times. It's not a case of just stumbling over something, you might have to so something, or receive something or stumble over something 200 times before it pays off.
