On the morning of Thursday, Oct 21, the memory on the Sleuth: Noir database server failed.

We've managed to restore database service. In addition to some downtime, we were forced to rollback the game state to the last backup taken late on Wednesday night.

First, the downtime:

Sleuth Noir was unplayable between 6am and 1pm on Thursday the 21st. In accordance with our subscription policy, all current subscribers have had their paid subscriptions extended by a full day.

And, the data loss:

Unfortunately, since we have not been able to get the old database server to work, we had to rollback the game to the state it was in around 11pm (MDT) last night (Wednesday, the 21st). This means that any progress you made in the game between 11pm and 6am this morning has been lost.

We are very sorry for both the downtime and the loss of data. We’ll do our best to avoid this kind of thing in the future.

Sleuth lives On

I don't think I have seen any New York Treasure hunts since the ET tried taking over the Big Apple.

I could be wrong.
