On the morning of Thursday, Oct 21, the memory on the Sleuth: Noir database server failed.

We've managed to restore database service. In addition to some downtime, we were forced to rollback the game state to the last backup taken late on Wednesday night.

First, the downtime:

Sleuth Noir was unplayable between 6am and 1pm on Thursday the 21st. In accordance with our subscription policy, all current subscribers have had their paid subscriptions extended by a full day.

And, the data loss:

Unfortunately, since we have not been able to get the old database server to work, we had to rollback the game to the state it was in around 11pm (MDT) last night (Wednesday, the 21st). This means that any progress you made in the game between 11pm and 6am this morning has been lost.

We are very sorry for both the downtime and the loss of data. We’ll do our best to avoid this kind of thing in the future.

Sleuth lives On

Hey SS while you are breaking things, would it be too much to ask if you could break down those construction barricades at the Boardwalk. ; p

Actually made that statement with wrong detective; that would be ME that got switched contact.

Not a huge problem; you guys do a GREAT job keeping things running quite smoothly!!

Great thought shell marple!! It's a shame about the lost data, I have to restart my 3rd city again, but it could have been worse, I could have lost all progress.

Thanks for the update admin.

Ok, so the treasure hunt weirdness should be all sorted out now.

The one remaining post-crash bug that I know about is the Game Info page. Not the highest priority, obviously, but I am working on it.

If there is another bug that's cropped up in the past couple days, please let us know.

Thank you very much for your patience with this. I know it's annoying.

Shameless plug: The fallout from this crash has created a lot of high priority work for both me and SS to handle. Mostly it's been our personal lives and day jobs that pay the price. We also need to save up to buy some new memory for that database server that blew up. Now would be a great time to renew your subscription to show us how much you care :)
