Police Swoop on Stables
After repeated accusations of race-fixing, Shanghai police today raided the stables of newly crowned celebrity thoroughbred Three-Legged Tom. Extensive interviews were carried out with stable staff, but police were not forthcoming with the results of those interviews.

Oooooh, I just love scandals :-D

"'Little Rocky' Goes Missing
Famous international Jockey 'Little Rocky' O'Shaunessy, rider of Three-Legged Tom in the recent Shanghai Invitational, has disappeared. Said to be assisting police with their ongoing race-fixing investigation, 'Little Rocky' was reported missing by self-proclaimed philanthropist Kong Xian-Nu. "'Little Rocky' will be a great loss to the racing community. We mourn his ... I mean we pray for his safe return," Xian-Na stated to the Press."

This is all so strange...It doesn't even seem that Tom won a race. I hope it does have to do with Battery Boardwalk, or something new being added to Sleuth.

SHAME! Three-Legged Tom Disqualified
Shanghai Track Officials today acknowledged that, amidst speculation of race-fixing, they would strip the 'Shanghai Invitational' Title from Three-Legged Tom. His owners would be required to pay all winnings back. 'Whilst these allegation may never be substantiated,' a pale track official reported, 'we believe there is enough doubt in the result to warrant this course of action."

Ah, the plot thickens! :-)

Ticket Holders Riot
A small riot of sorts was witnessed outside of the offices of the Shanghai Racing Track this morning as angry patrons demanded their betting slips be honored. Whilst those who had bet heavily on recently disgraced Three-Legged Tom were nowhere to be seen, many who had placed their money on second place getter 'Naked Joe' demanded full payment. Many claimed they had destroyed their 'winning' ticket after the race and hoped the Shanghai Track officials would take them at their word...

Do I smell another lottery in the works?

Oooo...That would be nice too. I still hope it has something to do with Battery Boardwalk or another new addition to Sleuth.

Lottery Announced
Shanghai Track officials today announced that they would hold a public lottery to disburse the Shanghai Invitational race winnings, somewhat reluctantly returned to them by the syndicate owning Three-Legged Tom. In a strange move Track Officials claimed they would extend the lottery beyond their regular patrons to the general public in a gesture of generosity and good faith.

You were right, Sultry De Mon, it is another lottery! I love the idea of getting money, but I still wish it had been about Battery Boardwalk opening.

It was announced today that hard working Gumshoe, Detective Xanthias, was the winner of the lottery to disburse funds returned after the recent Shanghai Invitational fiasco. Amusingly, Track Officials were keen for Detective Xanthias to accept 'track credits', but the wise sleuth in question took the cold hard cash; a grand total of $290,458. Congratulations, Detective Xanthias!

Congrats, Xanthias!

How did the lottery work (I wasn't around for the Shady lottery)? Did you have to buy tickets somewhere to enter (if so, I never found where to get them lol), or were we all just entered into the lottery automatically? Either way, I think having a lottery was a fun idea!
