We've decided to move Noir into 2008 and take our first tentative steps towards the social web.

You may or may not have noticed the "Recent Activity" box on the homepage. For now, that's just going to be a space for displaying Scripted Mysteries that people "Like". A loose rating mechanism that people have been asking for for awhile. Also, it's a way to give those mysteries a little more exposure to the outside world.

If this goes well, we'll add ways for people to like message board posts and agency pages as well.

Users are now given the option of liking an SM when they start it and when they end it. If you want to Like an SM that you've already completed, clicking on that mystery in the Case page now takes you to a detail page with more information about the mystery before actually starting it. Give it a try.

(If you all had Like buttons on your foreheads, we'd totally click on each and every one of them.)

Lmao! You guys are hilarious.
But yeah, I don't like Farmville. >.>
If you're not sure about the whole "facebook privacy" thing, you can check by going to "Account"" -> "Privacy Settings". Then just review what you want to be "Friends Only" and such.

What? Facebook! Oh no! That kills the whole idea of being incognito and I was having soooo much fun starting out. Can we skip on "like" or "not like" and go on our merry way? I would like to try a SM sometime soon, but I don't think I want all my friends and friends' friends to know what kind of shenanigans I'm up to. BTW Cordelia's satiric quote in re: Farmville was hilarious and brilliant - so we should give her extra points. ;)

Yeah of course. You don't have to click anything.

Okay, I'm just a bit confused here. (Yeah, I know, I'm slow in the head. Hey, I'm entitled. ;-)

1. Are posts from here going up on our Facebook 'walls' or whatever they call 'em??

2. What, exactly, is getting posted??

3. Are y'all only doing 'Like' stuff, or are y'all doing actual posts/comments??

(Incredibly bewildered here. Sorry. ;-)

OK so if Facebook was working for me at the moment I would copy paste for you what goes up on your wall. You can post comments on someone's wall about that mystery, but there is not a page per se where you can leave comments about a particular scripted mystery. Well that's how I think it works.

So taken from my FB profile page..

"Thumbs up icon-Shannon likes Wheel of Misfortune on noir.playsleuth.com"

*NOTE: The above is TWO links...Wheel of Misfortune, which will take you to the Featured Mystery Page where you can read the synopis AND

noir.playsleuth.com will of course take you to the front page where you can click on Noir or Shades as usual.

Hope that helps Breit!
