Under detective adjustments, I have 2 smarts and 23 charms. (and minus 6 tough, because I don't use it.) Does anyone know if I should change my outfit and play around with the numbers more. Or is my detective as charming as she can be. Thanks!!

Well there is other gear you can get from Villain hunts and from doing the Cairo shoe quests to get more charm.

ok so I'll add if you're going to have - tough, you might as well max out charm. Smarts is super and all, but I play with -tough, max charm and -smarts and haven't really had any issues.

What is the max for charm? After a certain number, is there any point of going higher?

I think you could get to 30 if you tried. My tough only and charm only outfits are +29's. They are great when you are home and you can change into smart gear from the locker, but I use other combinations to travel.

If 23 is working for you, then you are fine. I travel with 23 charm and think that works for the most part. But at home, I think that extra 6 pts might buy me an extra question from a townie or suspect now and then, so it's worth it to me to invest in the better gear.

If what I'm seeing is your 'regular' uniform, so to speak, the only thing I'd prob'ly change is the Opera Glasses. There are better things out there (both regular items and AV) that are either higher in smarts, charm, or a combo of the two (the AV thing that's +5 charm and +3 smarts comes first to mind, think it might be the Spyglass??, but there's others out there).

Anyway, if what you're wearing right now is what you travel with, I'd say you're doing fine. When I do hunting, (I lean towards one side, depending on the city), I generally try and have either a tough or charming score of around 23 or 24, and try and have a smarts score of somewhere around 3 or 4. It's usually enough to get 3 of the 4 evidence pieces id'ed, and sometimes I get reallllly lucky and get all 4 (there's also the other side of the scale, of course, when I'm lucky to get one. luck of the draw, I guess. ;-). It also is usually enough to get surveillance on a suspect in about 1 out of 3 cases (not a bad percentage, for such a low number).

Maximum for ANY one score (charming, tough, or smart) is +31. Down side is, the other two will be around -8 (not good, in my opinion, but there ya go ;-).

Hope all that helps!! Keep smilin', Hap!! ;-D ;-D ;-D

(Yeah, I know. Bad pun, Breit. ;-)

Thanks Treschaude and Breitkat! Maybe I'll pick up something a bit better than opera glasses when I go Sleuthing. :-D
