Waaaay before my time here, Serges hosted Sleuth March Madness in 2007. I thought it looked like a lot of fun, so... without further ado, The copy pasted rules from then with minor modifications! ;)

The premise is pretty simple. We compile a list of 64 of the game's most recognizable players, seed them into a tournament bracket, and allow Sleuthville to vote for the "best" in each matchup.

Rules for eligibility:
You are not allowed to nominate yourself.
You may nominate up to 3 persons.
The nominated must be over 30 days old by March 1, 2010, and active.

Entries and nominations should be messaged ASAP. As soon as we get 64, the seeding process will begin and the matchups will be posted.

After the initial bracket is filled, I will post a few matchups here every day. Then, the people involved in those matchups will have an opportunity to say "anything" on this thread that they feel will allow them to advance to the next round of competition. Sleuthville votes will be what decides the winners, and voting information will be coming soon.

The overall winner of this tournament will receive $100,000 sleuth cash.

We will start the voting on March 1st, so get your nominations in as quickly as possible! Please PM me the nominations, and I will be posting a list of who has been nominated, the brackets, and all that fun stuff as we go. :)

My endorsements for this round will go to Aknas & BreitKat.

Aknas is a good friend and such a sweet soul. Everyone who ever had to deal with her in the slightest knows that. She is one of those players whose presence in the community instils a sense of calm and serenity.

Breit is to me a personal hero for having been one of the driving forces for what is now known as the role playing stage. She is also an excellent writer and a very kind person.

Wishing everyone the very best.

I would like to endorse for Vulkie3 too.

I met her when we were in the same agency and she has been a great friend to me on Sleuth. Vote for her as she deserves it.

Good luck!

March 7th winners:

The way the ties are going to go since Kachenka and Peter O'Neil tied AGAIN, is the two tied matches will both move on and face a three way vote in round 2.

I would like to endorse LauraVo and BreitKat

LauraVo is great agency mate. She is always fun and spices up our agency message board. I've been amazed at how much she puts into the game considering her family and school work. She may not be all over the message boards or role playing (as I believe she would love to be more involved in that), but she is never one to back down from lending a helping hand to any detective.

VOTE LAURA VO!

BreitKat, I don't know very well. But I do know that she is willing to take risks to help new players. I know from experience, as she helped me out in my sleuth childhood. I've always appreciated her for that help. Everyone knows she chimes in with help on the boards and if she doesn't know what you need, she knows who to send you too.

VOTE BREITKAT!

I'm voting for Breit, but i'm a little bit biased. In here, she's my cousin; in real life she's my sister and boss. (Just a wee bit tilted toward one end of the scale of 'Breit vs. Hannah Glass' there.)

By the way, if i send in a vote from Pirate Kitty, would it count??? Yeah yeah yeah, i know...

I've been a participant and an encourager in this tournament since Day One. And I've maintained since Day One that ALL of the people nominated for it are just as equally deserving to win it, regardless of their experience, or time here at Sleuth, or color of toenail polish, or what have you. It's always been difficult for me to endorse one person over another, simply because too often I find I can't choose between people, and truthfully, don't want to.

Many of us have probably heard of Aknas from the recent Survivor tournament, of Vulkie, a regular contributor from the Stage, and of Hannah Glass, through her interesting contributions on the main Message Board. The rest in my bracket, though, may be somewhat less well known. Allow me to acquaint you with them.

Caledonia is an Agent with the illustrious Vidocq Society. Though she may not have endless experience or points racked up yet, she is a part of an impressive agency, and doubtless has a great deal expected out of her by her peers.

Emerald_ is another who is also fairly young in our halls. She is, though, a Director of The Underground, one of the oldest and most prestigious agencies in Sleuth. Kudos to her and her colleagues for revitalizing and reinventing a venerable institution.

Laura Vo has been an Officer with the Blue Pagoda for several years now. She's not often heard on the Main Boards, but she works hard to help her agency mates and keep the Pagoda running smoothly. She's a quiet, friendly, integral part of her agency, and it truly is a shame that more people don't know her.

Finally, there is Geddes. Geddes was a long-timer when I-I-I-I was a rank rookie, and is one of the few I know who can give Ctown a run for his money in the rocking-chair department (she looks better in a cape, besides ;-). She's been a Director of numerous agencies, and helped to create most of what we come to take for granted here at Sleuth.

Regardless of whom you choose, now and throughout the rest of the Tournament, each nominee deserves a hearty congratulations for being one of the very best Sleuth has to offer!!

On behalf of all of them,

Thank you!! ;-D

Shady we all know and love... or love to gripe about. ;) I do love the quotes he's been sending out, too.

Harry Jones is a wonderful guy and I'm glad to know him. :) He is wonderful to talk to and I'm always happy to see him online and talk to him. :D

Elizabeth Christie is my fellow officer in Vidocq and is such a sweet woman. She has a wonderful sense of humor, works hard on her cases (and does them much more often than I do!), and is always willing to help out in the agency.

I hate this pairing. I really really do. Riza and JZ.

JZ has been my friend since Shades. We have written together, laughed, teased, and in RP we seem to be falling for each other. ;) JZ is a great friend and a wonderful Sleuther. :)

Riza Hawkeye is one of my bestest friends ever. She is hilarious, always helpful, an incredible sleuth (how many 483 day old detectives can say they are #9 overall on the high scores list?! Com'on. That's just astounding. And she's the youngest by far on the high scores list), and a staple of Barchat. She is a fantastic writer, both in RP and in her apartment, and she is always there when you need her.

I think JZ will understand when I say VOTE FOR RIZA!
