Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Does his shooting her have anything to do with something in the past? Was the sign some sort of reminder? Or a revelation of sorts?

Yesish, the shooting has something to do with the past but not particularly relevant.
No, the sign was not a reminder.
No, the sign was not a revelation.

Is location relevant? Timeframe? The identities of the man and woman?
Type of car? Materials of the sign?

Was the sign electric in some way? Electronic? Made of natural materials?

Not to deter you, but after you solve this one, you are probably going to want to go here: http://www.lateralpuzzles.com/cgi-bin/discus/discus.cgi
This puzzle is turning out better than the helicopter one. Hmmm....

Did the sign say anything or was it blank? Was the particular material relevant?
