Good one, Riza. That ones awesome!
Wolf, here's what it boils down to. You can't go wrong with Agatha Christie.
The question becomes whether you prefer Marple or Poirot, both or neither. XD

Miss Marple was always my favorite. Nemesis I think it was, that I really liked.
Wolf, you have not lived.

I don't like Agatha Christie. She's too predictable. Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes has got to be my favourite. And Edgar Allan Poe's C Auguste Dupin.

Funny you should mention the little job questions Molly, that's how I started reading mystery/crime books. I had no knowledge of mystery books so I figured I'll start with the authors used in the questions.
Wolf you should try the same thing, just pick any of them at random and see what you come up with :)

I haven't read any classic mystery books (Nancy Drew, when I was younger).
But I do enjoy the Matthew Shardlake novels by C. J. Sansom, my favorite being Dissolution.

I used to love Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys! :]
In FACT, I used to love Nancy Drew soooo much that my uncle bought me the second pc game by her interactive, stay tuned for danger, and I will only slightly-ashamedly admit that I have played and owned each and every one ever since...even the one that came out a couple months ago.
>_>
<_<
-cough-
Actually the little job question was one of the reasons I picked up a Paretsky novel, that and boredom/ luck. When I finish collecting the series I might look for another one. :] Maybe I'll check into the one Gena talked about.
