Do you have what it takes to outlast all others? Do you think you can rise above the rest and stand out as the ultimate contender? Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to Survivor: Sleuthville!

10 Detectives enter, face off against each other in a different challenge every week, and the last left standing will be crowned Sleuth Noir Survivor! The winner will walk away with a one-year subscription to Sleuth Noir and bragging rights over the entire community. The rules are simple:

1. The first ten Detectives to post an entry will be entered and placed on two teams of five.

2. It's advisable to be subscribed. Some of the challenges may require travel, and if you can't participate, it's likely your team will vote you off at elimination. I won't bar anyone based on this, but it's your call.

3. The losing team at the end of each event will have to vote off one member. To do that each team member will submit a PM to me, which will remain anonymous with the name of the person he or she is voting for, and a short reason why. It can be as simple as-

Name: Heimlich VonVictor
Why: He didn't write any of the poem. It's no wonder we lost!

4. Challenges will be one week long and a winner will be announced at the end, in the event of a tie, a coin will be flipped.

5. Anyone may enter including mods, editors, or even Ben and Sunny themselves if they so choose.

6. The contest will begin when all ten detectives have entered and been placed on teams. It will conclude after nine weeks of elimination challenges.

That's all! Get out there and outwit, outplay, and outlast!

*hopes it's a writing challenge*

Miss Parr looks from the boat she is in with her teammates to the Comanche beach ahead.

"Well I suppose it will have to do..."

Welcome to round one of Surivivor: Sleuthville! Our teams have been formed and our competitors are eagerly awaiting their first challenge. For our first challenge everyone is going to be on equal footing and must all use their skills to contribute. Remember, you will be judged based on how well you do by your own teammates! So while you are competing against the other team, you will live or die by how well you perform on your own team.

Ms. Violet Parr guessed correctly that our first challenge is a writing challenge, however it will take many different types of skills and reasoning to succeed in this challenge.

CHALLENGE #1- The Newbie Net

Each team must write a proposal of no less than 100 words exhibiting their best overall idea for bringing in new players and convincing them to subscribe. This is a great chance to use the skills of all six members of your team. It’s also a great chance to gauge the abilities of your fellow teammates. Is he going to bring the team down later on? She’s really strong, do I really want to go up against her later in the game? The only criteria for this challenge is an understanding of the game and what makes it appeal to people, which everyone here obviously has.

Entries will be due by 10:00 a.m. Sleuth Time on October 11, 2009. When I receive both entries via PM, they will be posted here, and a judgment will be announced at or about the time above. At that point a member of the losing tribe will be fired. *Adjusts toupee* Ahem... whoops! Sorry wrong show! A member of the losing tribe will be voted out by his or her teammates.

Good luck teams! Get out there and outwit, outplay, and outlast!

WTG, Violet! 1 point goes to the Comanche Tribe for correctly guessing the first challenge? :D

*Irene takes a quick little dance, rejoicing she did not sign in for the contest*

Wow! That was a hard challenge!

Hm... no less than 100 words...
Perhaps I would have been able to write complete nonsense in some thousand words?...

I wonder how many consecutive PM's Heimlich expects to recieve?
Will he really be able to keep track if he recieves 20 PM's from one of the tribes? If he at the same time recieves 20 PM's from the other tribe as well?
- or if it was 50? - after all, they are expected to send in the PM's somewhat before a set time... ;-)

It will be exciting to see how many Posts each of the tribes proposal will be... :-D

Hm, Irene, if I've read the challenge correctly, it shall be ONE proposal per tribe of no less than 100 words. One PM per tribe should do. I always agree with the phrase "less is more". If you cannot explain an idea within two minutes to a sixth grader, than the idea has failed. However, I do agree that to do this within 100 words is quite a challenge, but the Lenape Tribe is definitely up to the challenge. The winner is definitely us :D

Sorry Aknas, I do not believe there's any point for guessing outside our challenges :P Anyway we all know this SNS (Sleuth Noir Survivor) will be somewhat writing related, so no extra points for Comanche :)

Ah, to clarify... "no less than 100 words" meaning your minimum content will be 100 words. I'm not putting a maximum on it, but you must meet the 100 word minimum.

Oh, but if it had been me, I guess I would be able to write One proposal, consisting of 50 consecutive PM's... ;-)
It would of course be complete nonsense, and the idea(s) would have a 99% failiure rate, my team would loose and so on, and I would be the first one to be voted out... - but then, I did have an idea from the start that it was writing related, and as writing have never been my strength (unless it's about multiplying the amount of words)...
I am happy today to be a Sleuth Noir almost incredible Looser (SNaiL for short) :-D
