Everyone has suggestions for new things they would like to see in Sleuth. Well, this is a thread for those ideas. Just post a one or two line synopsis of your concept(s), with a small additional informational blurb if two lines is not enough to capture it. Discussions regarding specific ideas will take place in a separate thread, to keep this one running smoothly. Please do not include complaints, critiques, or other discussion on this thread, for purposes of flow. Anything that is not specifically done for the purpose of outlining an idea will be deleted.

All ideas will be considered; even if no discussion thread for them is immediately started, don't lose heart. Ready, get set, post!

No Nephi an un-moderated forum is not going to happen. You can take that as a direct Admin response to refer back to whenever you feel the desire to use another alt. to pose the question again.

How about if crime lab analysis messages auto-delete after being read? I don't know of anyone who saves them, it would cut down on a load on the server for those who don't bother to delete when they come through, and it could just be coded the same way as agency invites.

A suitcase to travel with. This way you could carry 3 or 4 items with you as you travel.

Another site that I use, http://www.wheresgeorge.com has two tiers of users, much like Sleuth. Paid users and free users. Free users are able to use the site, but paid users get additional benefits.

What Where's George does is after the user had entered 500 bills, the server automatically gives that user a free one month subscription to the paid tier to try out the benefits to see if it's something that the user wants to continue with. At the end of the month, the user goes back to being a free user.

What if we were to implement the same thing on Sleuth? Once a user hits an arbitrary exp number such as 100k or 50k the server gives them a 1 month subscription with all of the benefits. This way users can see for themselves how great subscribing is, and hopefully encourage more members to buy subscriptions and participate.

yeah if I could have some kind of Mod Tool so that if I'm interrupted playing my cases by 100 PM's I can give someone, say, typhoid and have them quarantined somewhere in a dingy Noir hopsital for an undisclosed period of time... well, til I'm done playing :D

I've been trying to read through the thread to see if the idea I have been mentioned but this thread is too long so forgive me if my idea has been already mentioned.

Surveillance is a skill that allows you to attempt to unclam a suspect once per case. Cost 15 skill points.

Why cant we get another version of this skill for townies? There have been several cases where I have to verify some ppl's abili AND check PE from the SAME townie only to see that Rule-Bending failed me, leaving me with the option to bribe for only 1 question. -_-

Dont you think it's fair we should have a skill like that for townies too? =(

I would assume the suggestion of updating the Message Board has already been said. I like to see the option to edit my post.

I have an idea in regards to the Hostage Negotiation vs Trap Detection.
I feel there will be no way to make these skills balanced without somebody complaining about it. Wouldnt it be easier just to allow an ONE TIME switch to other faction? However since it's one time, you cant switch back. Of course you lose the faction skill, book, and standings (for Tea Steepers, Secret #2 also) if you do decide to switch. You may even add a fee and/or the temporary loss of access to Cairo (since you may be starting with 0 standings) to it. >.>
Because this is one time, you wont be able to return to original faction you chosen. So if a Tea Steeper went to the Tigers' side, you cant become a Tea Steeper again. .
No one should complain afterwards since they only have themselves to blame for leaving their respective factions, right? I think this is the easier decision. We all make mistakes. You think you know what you want and then until you try it out, you realize it's not for you. It happens and we all need a second chance.

-----------
I want to add to #1 Old cars- Cars could be used to save cases between cities and/or have an extra slot for an item (the trunk).

I think the cars should have stats on them as well. For example, a car that looks like an old police car would get tough stats. They say you can tell a lot about a person by the car they drive. ;)

I have another skill idea and I want to thank the person who thought up the skill "Determination" several pages back.
Instead having a skill that will auto-solve for a piece of evidence, why not get a skill that can determine a piece of unknown evidence to be?
For example, you have an unknown note. You can use the skill to determine rather the note comes from a left-handed person or a right-handed person on your own without assistance from the crime lab.
Instead of calling the skill "Determination", I would call it *drum roll* ... "Analyze", "Trace", or "Sixth Sense" even? o.o -> xD
