Everyone has suggestions for new things they would like to see in Sleuth. Well, this is a thread for those ideas. Just post a one or two line synopsis of your concept(s), with a small additional informational blurb if two lines is not enough to capture it. Discussions regarding specific ideas will take place in a separate thread, to keep this one running smoothly. Please do not include complaints, critiques, or other discussion on this thread, for purposes of flow. Anything that is not specifically done for the purpose of outlining an idea will be deleted.

All ideas will be considered; even if no discussion thread for them is immediately started, don't lose heart. Ready, get set, post!

I still want to see a casino! I would really like to see it on the boat, but if thats not gonna happen then I suggest a new city be Vegas. It would be perfect since Billy Wilkerson started gambling in Vegas back in the 30's.

Yes, it was Billy Wilkerson, Bugsy Siegel stole the idea from him and started the Flamingo Hilton!

A new type of property!
It is not an apartment nor an agency. You pay the down payment and receive this property. There will be two ways of buying. One is that you can buy it yourself or buy with sharing money and sending "Credit Letters".
The thing new here is that this property will have no rent not will it be shown on the High Scores board as an agency but the detectives can team up and show their talent.
As for participating in Treasure Hunts, I think that you should not be allowed. Moreover, there would be no ranks but the residents could exchange items and send money to their mates. However, this decision must be better considered by the Board.

On the new faction idea...

In my unfinished mystery, "The Factions meet...", there is mention of a secret Xtra faction obsessed with money, the Saints of the Golden Medallion, operating in Paris and Rome but the mystery ends thus:

...I decided six factions were enough for one detective...

Maybe...
Paris factions: E T, D A B, Saints, The Sunset Order
Rome factions: O of S, G H, Saints, Mafia El Cappucino
Madrid factions: C of L, La C N, The Sunset Order, Mafia El Cappucino

Voila!

1) Purchaseable skill allowing review of intro/twist, and see if case will end granting a favor - This is an interesting idea, however it would have no useful effect on cases, and would be purely a folly.
2) Give gifts to townies to affect chances of getting a favor - Altering the chances of getting a particular favor would slant treasure hunts too much in favor of those with the spare money to burn.
3) Skill to show how many cases until next favor - This skill provides no identifiable advantage to the average detective. Understandably, it is useful for the rare detective who is run by more than one person, but most detectives do not fit this profile and are easily able to track their own number of cases until a favor is due.
4) Method for allowing people to help someone else complete cases in another city - Unfortunately this would not be in keeping with the time period of the game.
5) Stop townies clamming up on their own favors - An idea similar to this is currently being considered.
6) Delete private scripted mysteries - The possibility of this function is being checked into.
7) Sponser board for unsubscribed players - It has always been an unwritten rule here that asking for subscriptions is frowned upon. Providing a board for that purpose would be counter-productive.
8) Gambling minigames - This is being considered.
9) New faces adding to random mysteries - This is being worked on but will probably take a while to show up.
10) SMs that travel across cities - Interesting; however, multi-city cases, random cases or SMs, are currently not supported by the game mechanics. What you ask is currently accomplished by making scripted mysteries act in a series, where one is completed before one in another city can be started, (i.e. the Doomsayer Series).
11)Pawn Shop - There is no logical reason why anyone would allow someone to pawn a contact. This could possibly be used to pawn items during VHs if the detective runs out of cash.

12) More useful Detective Shop - It would be possible to add new items to the Detective shop.
13) Hospitals - Sleuth Noir is not a time-based game, so disallowing people the ability to play for so long doesn't make sense. This kind of thing could work in Shades of Mystery, where a detective could lose a few hours on a case while they get patched up.
14) Add old cars to profiles - This is interesting, but some use would have to be found for having cars before this would be added.
15) City News posts for Losers - It is always better to quit rather than to guess, so pointing out that someone has quit something is not motivational.
16) Buying back stolen books - With some tweaking, this idea could be made useable.
17) Mobile Sleuth App - This is an interesting idea. However, there are concerns that a mobile application would detract from people playing the game here.
18) Payment for the money twist - This twist was not written to allow the detective to get any money, and obtaining $5000 for a case with a maximum payoff of $1000 would be counter productive.
19) Lower cost for Sleuthetania - This will be put forward to Sleuth Admin.
20) Casino - This is being considered.
21) "Blue Pistol" missions - Collecting items from Crime Scenes for use later is something that will be considered.
22) New type of property - There is no distinct advantage to having a property that is similar to an agency but with less functionality.

Regarding Scripted Mysteries - These will be added as they are completed. Only the writers of Scripted Mysteries can influence this. Submissions that have been carefully reviewed and play-tested by the author will spend less time in editing and therefore be playable more quickly.
Regarding new cities/factions - There are no plans to add new cities/factions at this time, as they will not add any new functionality to the game. If anyone has an idea for a city that will bring something new to the game, please post it.

In the interest of making my idea (no.17) clearer the sleuth app would be quite restricting so as to entice new players. It's really a promotional technique.
