When a villain retreats to another city, what do you do if you don't have the money to travel there and you're not in an agency so nobody can lend you money? Since you can't do any cases when you're in the first one. I was fortunate to have some unneeded equipment in my apartment to sell for the ticket, but what about next time?

I think what Clint is getting at here, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that say you are in London and find the conspirator, the villain takes off to New York. All of the sudden you realize you dont have enough money to get to New York. Now you are stuck. You can't quit the hunt because in order to do so you need to be able to make an accusation.

Now what can be done is sell the clothes off of your back to get to the next city so that you can make the accusation, if you can't do that you are basically SOL, I guess you would have to PM Admin to ask him to force a failed VH.

So you're getting to the next city, New York, to make an accusation, with no idea of where to find your villain, and no equipment to help you solve cases with in order to find said villain?? You'd be making a 1 in 10 guess for an accusation?? Umm, that doesn't make a great deal of sense to me. But again, that's me. :-/

I would suggest that one can join an agency at such a moment. You can pay off the debts later when you have money. But that is just and just for me and I already have one but unfortunately I don't have all contacts to start with and I am also unsubbed.

If you manage to get to the next city, you will eventually be able to finish the hunt if you want to. I know of experience that it's possible to finish a hunt successfully for someone who just accidentially got her third false accusation during a villain hunt...
- and those who know what that means: loss of all contacts, most of your money and one of your items... Well, she was in "our" agency, as I had another person help me getting this unlucky agency member finish the hunt. I think we worked for a couple of days just to get her a possum bomber jacket (was the coat item that was gone). We did not really give her so much money, because there would not be too much to gain with money, and it was not the agency's policy. After we got the coat, we managed to solve more than 2 or 3 cases a day ;-)
The hunt was not finished within two or three days, but it was finished with the capturing of the villain. If you decide to give all cases a try, but not give a single bribe, it is still possible to solve some few AI cases, and, you will eventually earn some money, and be able to travel. You might even want to stay in a city when you know the co-conspirator, just to earn enough cash for travelling?

You are all missing the point, allow me to try and explain it again.

You successfully find the villain in London, he is hiding out at the barber shop, you go and find him there and he takes off to New York. You all with me so far?

You need to follow him to new york, but when you get to the docks, you realize that you don't have enough money to make the trip. Therefore, the villain is in New York, you are in London.

How can you fail the hunt, if you are not in a city to take a wild guess at finding him?

Of course all of this can be avoided if you simply take squirrels suggestion and make sure you have plenty of money before going. I remember when I started villain hunting, I always had at least $50k before starting.

I understand what you are saying, Ctown. And here is the irony: You sold some of your gears, managed to travel to NY and randomly accused a townie. And surprise, surprise you accused the right townie! Now it's off to your next city. ;)

Ok, just a scenario that might just happen. You have two options: Sell some of your gears so that you can travel or join an agency so that they can help you. But bottom line, have enough cash with you before doing a villain hunt, because you have to spend a lot from bribing to travelling.

I didn't think you could join an agency half way through a hunt.

And too bad if you were already naked when you arrived at the London docks. Then you are really stuck!

And just a note. I started with over $200K and finished with less than 16K and 2 FA hanging over my head! I'm not doing another VH til I have $1,000,000.
