I subbed (well actually my dad helped me join, so technically he subbed for me) and I'm looking for an agency to join. Will someone recruit me?

Then, in a couple weeks, come back here, and show us all your brand spankin' new record. I'm willing to bet that you'll get a much more favorable response from an Agency needing recruits than you prob'ly will right now.

I have to say it's a while since I've been so annoyed over a post but hey it was bound to happen eventually.

Anyway Breit and Mak have hit the nail on the head as usual with how they have phrased everything. Probably a good job they got their words in before me because as anyone who knows me will say, I wouldn't have put it as politely.

Agencies are about teamwork not selfishness which is exactly what you are saying you can give to anyone who will take you on. What does your age matter? Everyone is expected to show the same courtesy to each other no matter who they are. And if you are as lazy at home as you are sounding on here then it's no wonder you're getting into trouble with your parents.

Oh and it sounds like you need a little lesson in how to make friends. Calling someone a 'doof' or any other name is not the way to do it ok dear.

And on a final note, as a long term member of a prosperous/high ranking agency I can guarentee you will not be welcome with us whilst you have that attitude if ever.

Ok Golduck, I held my tongue until now, but here's my two cents. We here at Sleuth have NO intention of behaving like your parents. Most of us here either have parents that we too are trying to escape (even at my age in the mid-30's) or have children that we are trying to get away from. And the others are far too busy with trying to keep their own lives afloat to go and sink yours. So, we would rather interact with you, have fun, and enjoy your presence and contribution as a PEER with you than as a parent/child relationship. (That's not quite worded right but i'm hoping you get the idea.)

Second, I would have thought you would have learned in the supposed real world that in order to have friends that stick around, you have to support each other and behave towards each other in a manner that you EACH like being treated in. I doubt that you will stick with a 'friend' who does nothing but make demands of you and complain about everything that you do. Same goes here. We appreciate and work hard for people who are NICE to be around.

As a parting message, I know that the atmosphere and pressure at home can be really hard to deal with and i think that's why you're hoping to do well here (so you can fit in and find a place you like to be at). We would LOVE to have your participation. So, please, please, try to find a way to solve your problems with the agencies who have taken you in. Find a way to solve cases without having to guess (here's a hint, use one of the helper programs so that you can visually map out who's a viable suspect and who isn't). Don't be afraid to quit cases. I only know of one person with a record of thousands of cases and less than 10 quits. Most of us are happy if the quit ratio at the beginning (i.e. your experience is under 100,000) is 1:4 (one quit to every four cases). Remember that as you gain experience, that ratio will go down (normal for really experienced players (over a couple mill) is about 1:10 to 1:15 or 20). Not Breit :-)

Makensie, anyone else who thinks the way she does, that's not what I mean. I'll help out with the agency as much as possible, I'll try to get as little false accusations as I can't(?) get, I'll be a benefit to the agency. I don't expect to be taken care of hand and foot. I don't think of the agency as a bank. There's already a bank in each city. Right? LOL. Plus I'm kind of stuck on the case I'm working on at the moment. Think anyone can help me by way of messaging?

Hey David, surprisingly what you said in your second paragraph " I doubt that you will stick with a 'friend' who does nothing but make demands of you and complain about everything that you do." I did have a friend like that when I was in 5th grade. I got rid of him, and not in the way you think. In your parting message, the sentence, "So, please, please, try to find a way to solve your problems with the agencies who have taken you in." That's kind of the way my dad would talk to me.

Breit: I've quit about 27 cases right now. I even got a forced retirement once too (which sucked), solved 36 cases, and completed 11 scripted mysteries. How about that?

And for all the people who misquoted me about all my posts: I do NOT do that.

Your record's looking good, Golduck, 'cept for that retirement bit (OUCH!!). Keep up the great work, and let's see if you can keep the falses/retirements down to ZERO from now on, okay?? Lookin' spiffy!! ;-D
