...

“He’s just gone!”

“What do you mean gone?”

“I mean gone, detective, disappeared without a trace.”

“Barry Grant? Gone?”

“…”

“And what do you expect out of me?”

“What should I expect out of you?”

Betty was starting to get frantic back at Barry's apartment in the New Orient Towers. She had just received another mysterious telegram.

The crumpled up piece of paper trembled in her hands:

"MISS WITHERS STOP
TWO ARE IN ON IT STOP
THE GREEN CIRCLE STOP
DOES NOT EXIST STOP
TELL YOYO STOP
VP STOP"

Betty made sure the children were fast asleep. She put on her overcoat and walked out of the apartment locking the door behind her.

She set out to search for Reese Withers or Yoyofoshow.

Yoyo walked around in the darkness with his flash light, the police were thorough, there was nothing left behind the stable. Not a shred of evidence, he had hit a dead end and wasn;t going to make any progress with the evidence side of the case. All he knew was what the a passer by saw-Barry was put into a luxury car, but in Shanghai where it seems that every second person you meet is a drug baron that meant that were a lot of doors to knock on. Hopefully Reese was having more luck. Yoyo walked into town but stopped at the sight of a tiny speck of white powder that was definitely cocaine. Cocaine was a fairly exclusive drug, only a few dealers sold it and even fewer businesses produced it-too expensive for your average Joe to afford. This gave yoyo a lead and he knew exactly where to go.

As a light rain falls on Shanghai, somewhere in London, in a dank, cold prison cell, Mrs. Rebecca Franks sleeps uneasily. She is dreaming. She is dreaming about the events leading up to her incarceration. How she desperately tried to stay away from Barry Grant despite her own feelings. How she found she could not resist his request to see him. How she felt when she finally did see him again. How she listened to his stories of detection with a level of fascination she never knew she had. How she came to realize that nothing else in the world mattered but him.

She then started dreaming about the unbelievable circumstances that would have undoubtedly landed Barry in jail regardless of his innocence. The evidence was purely circumstantial and she knew it but she didn't want to take that chance. The thought of Barry in jail was more than she could stand.

Rebecca finally woke up. She was still tired due to the disturbing images she witnessed during her slumber. Still groggy, she kept her eyes closed and conjured up her favorite image of Barry, laughing over a Tom Collins, and a smile crept over her face. She never regretted doing what she did. She only regretted being held in a different country than where Barry lived. Barry's laugh was soon interrupted by a gruff voice coming from outside of her cell.

"Mrs. Franks! Get up! You have a visitor."

Reese was just about to the apartments to check in with Betty when she saw her walking very fast, like someone on a mission. She was so determined on where she was heading, that she didn't even notice that Reese was walking toward her.

As they grew closer, Betty finally put her head up, and jumped. "OH! Reese! I was just on my way to find you or Yoyo. I'm so glad you are here. Makes my job easier", she said. "What do you mean, Betty?", Reese asked.

Betty put her hand in her coat pocket, and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper. She looked at Reese, and as she handed it to her, she said, "This was sent to me from Violet Parr. I am to give it to you, so you can tell Yoyo" Reese took the piece of paper, and read it out loud.

"MISS WITHERS STOP
TWO ARE IN ON IT STOP
THE GREEN CIRCLE STOP
DOES NOT EXIST STOP
TELL YOYO STOP
VP STOP"

Reese sighed, then said, "Thank you Betty. I have to find Yoyo quick" She quickly walked off, as Betty yelled behind her, "Please stop back later, if you can!!" Without turning, Reese just put her hand in the air, and waved, as she walked on.

Hours later Reese met Yoyo, as he was in a determined walk. "Yoyo!", Reese yelled. He looked up, and quickly stopped. Reese ran up to him, and said, "You having any luck at all?" He told her of a lead he has, as she listens, nodding.

When he finishes, Reese says, "Well, as I was going to see Betty, she was coming to look for us" Yoyo perks up with interest, and says, "Oh?" "Yes", Reese replies. She hands him the crumpled paper with Violet Parr's message on it.

Yoyo has one arm crossed in front of him, as the other rests on top with his chin resting on his hand, and says, "Two are involved, and the Green Circle doesn't exist..hmmmm"

As Reese starts to reply, he says, "THAT'S it!" He walks off in the opposite direction he was coming from, and hollers back, "I will be in contact with ya Reese! I promise!"

She didnt have time to reply, he was gone with the wind.

Huglover's Assistant entered and said:

Ah... Mrs. Lebekka Flanks I presume? as he was looking on a picture to see that he had finally found the right one.

Very nice to meet you he said with a professional smile. I come from the Salvation Army, and have been looking for you.

Rebecca looked a little puzzled, but smiled at the visitor. There were not really many visitors that came by in this prison.

Mrs. Flanks, he said, you know our work, how we have dedicated our work into giving salvation to the people. Especially to the poor, trying to get them into a straight life.

As our customs, I have brought you a cup of something good and warm to strengthen you, and a small gift for cleaning. Then I would like to talk to you about salvation.

You know, when God created the universe, He did so with plans of everything being good. He created man, and wanted them to be happy and closely related to Him. Unfortunately man sinned, and did actions that departed him from God. That grieved God, and He killed a goat and clothed man in the fur, showing them that someone else had to die to atone for their sin. But God knew that something bigger was needed to make a complete redemption. God gave His instructions to man, about how they were to live to be happy, and also taught them what to do when they failed. Man continued to fall, and even if they offered a lot of animals, they were unable to get it straight with God. Then God sent His Son, Jesus. and made Him an offering. Since Jesus was able to live a life without fails, and sin, He could pay completely for the sin of man. When Jesus was crucified and hung up on the tree, cursed for our sake, thereby taking what was actually ours, we could get what was actually His; a reestablished relation to God. God proved that the offering was accepted by raising Jesus up again after having been in the grave for three days and three nights. We are allowed to receive this switch of our destiny with Jesus destiny by confessing our sins, and repenting from them, and welcoming Jesus as the king and ruler of our heart. That means that we no longer belong to ourselves, just as our old destiny no longer belong to us. It is expected that we learn to follow all the commandments that Jesus gave us, and try our best to keep them. But, we are also promised, that if we fail, Jesus himself will be entering into the throne room of God, and ask for mercy and forgiveness for us to the same degree that we are willing to forgive and offer mercy to those who do ill towards us...

Rebecca fed herself on the warm soup in the cup, and looked astonished on that strange man that had visited her and was eagerly sharing his message.

When he came to something that seemed like a natural pause, she looked like a question mark, and asked: why have you come to visit me?

Ah.. yes, I have come because of something that we received from our sister organization in Shanghai. There seem to be a man that comes in there from time to time. He is pretty down run, and, they have tried to help him get rid of his alcohol problem, but it seems like there is something that hold him back from really wanting to become sober.

They say it's like there are some sins that really haunt him, and they believe that he needs to confess his sins, and repent from them in order to get his life straight....

Now, the problem is that he does not really seem to be willing to tell or remember what his problem is. But, he had this picture and we wondered that if we were able to find the woman on the picture we might get some help from there...

Huglover's Assistant shows the picture to Rebecca, and she looks at the picture. Something tells her that this is a familiar picture... What once was written on the picture was long ago gone due to the picture having been much handled...

Rebecca tells slowly and a bit puzzled... - the picture seem to be a picture of me... - what was that man called?

Huglover's Assistant says that it have been hard to get the name of the man, but they have come to believe that the man was called something like G.lant Ba.ly or something, so they have started to call him Galant Baily. That has been the closest they have come up with for his name... He reappeared just recently, and in an awful condition. Someone had found him and he looked like he had got some new unclean drug that was not really good for him, and that had almost killed him. Right now they tried to care for him, and get him a little more sober, and hopefully make him survive.

Rebecca looks at Huglover's Assistant, as she can not really figure out what this could be, or what man it could be... - but her visitor seems nice enough...

Huglover's Assistant looks at Rebecca, and says that he can understand that this is new for her, and that she will need some time to think it over...

I have brought you three pieces of paper and a pen and some ink. Now, if you come to think of anything that we can tell Galant Baily to help him find the sins that he need to confess and repent from, I would like you to write this on one sheet of paper. Then, due to your situation, I guess there are things that you would like to confess to make it right with God as well, and I would like you to write this on the second sheet of paper. The third sheet of paper are if there are someone else you would want to bring a message to, and then you will have to put the name and the message there, and we will see if we can bring the message for you. The prison guard knows how to get in contact with us, so when you have written something on all the sheets and want me handle them further, just tell the prison guard, and he will get hold of me.

Huglover's Assistant smiled to Rebecca. She was still so confused that she could hardly speak... Who was this Galant Baily that he was talking about???

The gruff voice reappeared and said towards Rebecca: "Visitation over, now come with me"

Huglover's Assistant smiled once more, and said: Hope to talk to you again soon Mrs. Lebekka Flanks...

Suddenly it appeared to Rebecca... and she said "you are talking about Barry Grant???"

"May be? I..." Huglover's Assistant answered before she was to far away to hear anything more of what he said.

Rebecca Franks scratched her head. She was completely confused by the latest visit made to her and wondered if it was just a mistake. After all, the man got her name wrong....

Becky laid back onto her bed and closed her eyes once more. She was still tired and desperately needed more sleep. However, that was not meant to be.

"Mrs. Franks! You have another rather insistent visitor."

Becky sighed, opened her eyes and sat up to face the cell door. Through it she saw two gentlemen: her lawyer and a young man she never met before.

"Mrs. Franks," said Becky's lawyer, Marshall Cambridge, "I've come with news."

Becky rolled her eyes at him, "Mr. Cambridge, I thought I made myself perfectly clear. I do not want to reopen this case and risk landing Barry in jail. It's the least I can do for him."

"Mrs. Franks," Marshall turned towards the younger man, "Please let me introduce to you Mr. Leopold Parr. He brings news that I think will change your mind."

"Oh?" Becky was skeptical. How could such a young man know anything about her or her case or even Barry for that matter.

"Mrs. Franks," began Leopold, "I have recently come into some information that may change your mind..."

Meanwhile in a very nondescript part of town, Barry, whose hands and feet were still bound started to come to after a much disturbed sleep. He was achy all over, tired, and feeling very agitated. He didn't know he was tied up but soon found out when he tried to get up.

Seeing the ropes binding his hands he immediately started trying to untie himself with his teeth. The exertion that the effort required made him nauseated and he immediately rolled to his side and vomited.

"Ugh!" he said aloud. Then to himself, "Where am I? What the hell is going on?" He rolled away from the result of his last expulsion and onto some rocks. One of which jabbed him in the back pretty sharply.

Barry rolled away some more and looked back at the rock that so rudely poked him and realized it might be used to cut through his ropes. He gathered the very little strength he had, ignored his muscle pain, dragged himself back to the pointy rock and began running the ropes that bound his hands together over it.

He had to take frequent breaks but eventually cut through enough of the rope that it finally fell away. With his now free hands he untied his feet, stood up and looked around. He did not know where he was and the aches and pains in his muscles and the flips his stomach was doing was not helping him get his bearings.

"Well," he thought to himself, "I might as well pick a direction and see where it leads." Barry looked around and went in the direction that seemed the most promising to lead him back to civilization.
