I have collected all the skills that are available except for trap detection (what's it for anyway?) and pickpocketing, now I have 70 skill points with nothing to do. It would be nice if some new, or more advanced skills, were introduced.

I'd suggest getting pickpocketing. Seeing as you have nothing else you need.
This would allow you to get paid even when your client turns out to be guilty!

go after the cairo shoes...
trap detectin is very helpfull when you enter the catacombs...
but is totally possible get the shoes without trap detection...
travel to cairo and you will see...

On a side note, how do you navigate the catacombs without trap detection? I don't have it, and I tried four different maps. Each time, I mapped my way in very carefully, so if I triggered a trap I could avoid the mistake and take a different route. But it doesn't seem to help. I have never yet successfully completed a map, let alone the number needed to get Cairo shoes. Exasperating!

thats stranger BArd....coz more then one time, i mapped my way, and only fond 2 trap...and one note, and the articatc...( now i know how to get the book, but i need more luck)....
