Had a bit of an 'oops' come up. Over the last 2 weeks, I"ve been dealing with a rather excruciating migraine. Standard meds have done little to help. After several trips to the E.R., I suffered a fall and blow to my head, and briefly passed out. After extensive tests, MRIs and CAT scans, the doctors found a small thrombosis, or blood clot, in my brain.

I've had a stroke.

I was released from the hospital yesterday, and am now recovering at home. The doctors are treating the stroke aggressively, and working very hard to prevent a repeat occurrence. I have a great medical team, and my family has been wonderful through all of this.

I greatly appreciate all of your encouragement and support. It's going to take time for me to get back on my feet, and your interest and caring will be invaluable to me. I thank you for that!!

Hope all of you are doing well. Again, thank you. ;-)

Hi Breit.

We're very lucky to have your brain around here, and we're glad it'll be here to enlighten and entertain our brains for a long time to come. You really are irreplaceable.

For now, take it easy and take care of yourself. You're in all of our thoughts.

Breit, I have some serious stuff too, the best advice is listen to your Dr. and follow his/her instructions. Oh, and let your family love and pamper you as much as they want...it will make them feel better its part of their dealing with it too.

Good rest and God's blessings.

WOW, thank you so very much everyone for your kind words, wonderful messages, and great words of comfort from everybody!! They mean a great deal to me. ;-D

I"m on the slow road to recovery. I start occupational therapy next week, but for now I'm trying to get my body reoriented ('ve lost a lot of movement and sensation on the left side of my body, and I fall over or trip at the drop of a hat.)I've been taking it very easy, mostly resting and catching up on sleep. I'm on day 16 of my migraqine, and it hasn't lessened much. Hopefully it'll start receding shortly.

Hope to talk to all of you soon, and again, THANK YOU!! ;-D
