Well it never took off over on the AVL site, so Dawg Pound Investigations is proud to announce that we will be holding a tournament. lilangel and myself have been working the past few weeks to get enough teams interested and finally have them together. If all goes well, there will be more tournaments to follow which we will make open to all agencies. Our tournament will begin on Monday, April 14 and will be 4 or 5 rounds. details can be viewed here:

Any questions feel free to PM me. We will also use this thread for any trash talking that the players want to begin with. Let the fun begin! :-D

ok, lil and me talked it over and this is what we are going to do:

Fortunately, the first tie came in the losers bracket so this is what we are going to do. Both teams advance to the next round and there will be a triple threat match in the losers bracket. This means it will be:

Dawg Pound
vs
Sirens
vs
Untouchables

Same rules apply, we are not about to make the changes in the middle of a tourney, but can tweak them after this tourney is over for when we decide on the next one.

But keep any ideas for other tiebreakers coming, I'd love to hear them. What about, most xp points gained by the team captain, I would have to track that of course, and would have no problem seeing how many someone starts with, but would need to rely on the honor system for how many are ended up with at the point of capture, no more cases to be played after capture. What does everyone think?

For the losers bracket, I like the three way match.

At certain points of the winners bracket, a rematch could be the option. For example if SL and TIA had tied they could complete a rematch without delaying the tourney. And of course for matches g and h of the current bracket I think a rematch would be fairest.

If you were to go with an XP count I would argue that it should be who gained the least XP, as it means that you needed less cases to finish the hunt and were therefore more efficient. (And would discourage people from doing extra cases afterward as that would disadvantage them.)

One issue with the XP count of course is that if we have placed free cases in our agency case files and someone else completes them while we are mid hunt, it will be a disadvantage (and of course could be severely exploited if you go for most XP).

I agree that absolute finishing time is unfair as it punishes someone based on their timezone. I for example am often on within an hour or so of reset (or earlier) and would have a major advantage.

Topkebab, I like your suggestion re pointscoring.

*All suggestions are just that, and are placed here to initiate discussion on the topics. I will quite happily listen to counterpoints and alternate suggestions.

I love the least xp point aspect, one it takes out the problem of people doing extra, more importantly, the members of the agency can have an impact as well.

Yeah you filed the case and they solved it, you get half credit, did your agent just mess you up?

I have one more suggestion for the website. As the only piece of information on the main page that changes is the round start date can we have it moved closer to the top of the page?

I almost didn't see that the next round had been posted, as I don't look at that page much anymore as I already know whats there.

I've just noticed in my last post that my painstaking, meticulous and a-retentive spacing has been completely lost so the scoring table is just a jumble of numbers. I guess V Buster managed to make sense of it but if anyone wants me to repost it just shout.

Well of course Sirens backed into the 3-way match, and Untouchables, we can take those rookies!

Behind the woodshed and whip them that is! ;-)

Thanks Evelyn for the vote of confidence!! It will be a shame for us to put out 2 teams at once, but someone has to do it! ;)
