How about adding to the city a gun store.
Then making balistics a toughness skill.
That way we can earn the owner of the store as a contact later on.
and some how maybe use gun powder at the schene of a crime. (to implement this idea)

What do you think?

Yeah, that's a good idea. I've been thinking about adding advanced skills that are only buyable once your experience reaches a certain point. An additional type of physical evidence, that only appears on the higher levels could fit in well.

can do the same with a knife.

instead turn the Gunstore into a Weopens store and make the balistics skill a toughness skill but all so have advanced balistics that way you can determin either or .

Yeah, it is a good idea, and new physical evidence for higher levels makes a lot of sense (good way to not disrupt the balance of past levels).

Do let us know what you're thinking -- I've been spending my skill points on charm skills and now am worried I won't be able to get enough to buy new skills when they're added. Guess I should just start saving up my skill points at this point instead of using them?

I've had several idea in my head. They might not be good, but I'll share them anyway.

1) I remember someone mentioning about increasing the selection of properties for agencies. I think it is a good idea. For example, instead of a mansion, we could have a property called "Vacated Military Base", with the exact same statistics as a mansion, just with a different photo and description. That would increase the variety of property selections, so that we would not end up with every agency housed in a mansion.

2) Right now, the agency page is pretty empty. I'm not talking about the one inside the Headquarters. I'm referring to the one where everyone can see. It would be good if we can have a list of the detectives with their photos, experience and date joined, and rank. That way, we can tell at a glance who are in them easily. I see that a photo of the property has been placed in the Headquarters page. That is good, and perhaps it could also be put on the agency page (where everyone else can see) as well?

3) This one may be more difficult. Is there some way for agencies to increase their maximum quota of detectives? For example, we could make it possible for a agency to recruit one more agent over their maximum, after they have reached a certain amount of Fame Points, say 10,000. After that, it will become incrementally difficult to recruit the next one, say, an additional 20,000 Fame for the next addition, 30,000 for the next, and so on. But I predict this may present some programming difficulties?

Okay, babbled enough, just for discussion. Would love to hear what other players think.

1) Give me some more suggestions about properties, please.

3) I think that allowing a potentially unlimited number of detectives into an agency would be a bad idea. I already get complaints from newer agencies about the deck being stacked in the favor of the big ones.

Some property ideas,

Underground Military Base: Hidden sixty feet below sea level, this underground lair had previously been headquarters to some top secret military organisation.

Seaside Bungalow: Designed by a famous architect, this predominantly glass-panelled beachside bungalow exudes an elegant, contemporary feel.

Vacated Fire Station: Standing right in the heart of town, this historical building has witnessed many events which have shaped the city's history.

Revamped Castle: Previously converted into a tourist attraction, this renovated castle now house the most modern of facilities, dspite still looking as ancient as it had been first built, four hundred years ago.

^ The firehouse is my favorite of those four; it's the most likely to be found in the city...

A couple other ideas:

* an abandoned cathedral, fallen into major disrepair

* the back office of a bustling brothel (for that uber-seedy gangster feel)

Also, how about running an agency out of the trunk of a car? Make it cheap to purchase, but give it a -1 to skills (to represent the poor working conditions) or something. Perhaps only give it room enough for one or two items and case files...

I addition to Wayne Williams Jr's #2. As well as the detectives basic stats the ability to see if they are logged in would be good.

Hurmph! All you "amateur types" with your "fine theories" and grabbing the headlines! Well I'll think you'll find we "plodding" Inspectors, have our own methods, tried and true, up at the Yard. Sure and steady, that's the race! Why it's rumored the "offical force" might even consider adding a "wire-tapping" skills, similar in "modus", to that of lock-picking, in gaining evidence, "behind the scenes"? Or perhaps those of a "master of disguise" skills by which to re-interview clammed-up suspects, or even as an adjustment in "accessorys before the fact" in the more advanced investigations? Not that your, occassional suggestions, haven't proven of some small use to us in our investigations in the past... However you might say, that it would rather elementary to deduce that a gun shop would also carry knives, as it would seem, in fact, most do? And so to return to your original premise, a gun shop, does have a better "ring of truth" about it than say a weapons store, what?...
