Hello. I've been interested in writing Mystery intros for Sleuth and have actually written two which have already been approved. However, I just want to throw along a few questions. Forgive me if they have been asked before but I don't think they have:
1. Would you know when your into is rejected? Will it be rejected? Or will rejected intros just say Approved - No forever?
2. Limit of language usage (e.g. cursing) and slang up to age 13 or...? Please specify.
3. After submission are you allowed to delete the intro? I can't find an option for it.
Thanks in advance. :)

The answer to question 1 means you do have the chance to re-work it until it is approved. The editors will nomraly tell you what's wrong with it.

Unless your intro is written completely in text speak or your detective is retired and we can't get ahold of you, yes, we do try to work with the authors before just rejecting an intro.
There have a been a few times when I've sent off a note and received no response. After a couple of weeks, those too will be rejected.
Top reasons why I usually send a note:
1. Need tags still
2. Need paragraphs
3. Need spell check
4. Need to capitalize the 'I"s
5. Need to fit the standard ending (don't have the detective go running off at the end when the next line is going to say that the client gave you a list of suspects)

Thank you. I'm glad to know that at least there will be feedback if the intros are not approved.
