OK, people always say that visiting Big Lucy is useless if you are a newbie and/or unsubscribed, but there are two good reasons for visiting early in the game. The first is that you'll be able to buy the black trench coat for $3000, it gives you +2 for toughness, thus being one of the best clothing items for the early to mid game. The brown trench coat only gives you +1 toughness, and the leather gives you+1 toughness and +2 charm, but costs $8000!!! All the other clothing items availible early in the game have minus effects on some abilities. The other reason is that you can buy a book for $100!!! It doesn't get cheaper than that, and the book will give you 80 xp and 1 skill point!
So it's definately worth paying her one visit (if you have enough money for these items), but not more than that.

The amount of xp and skill points you get from the book varries Ethan, as most players are at all different levels of play.

Oh, ok. Anyway, a book for 100 bucks is still a good deal.
Thanks for letting me know.

The XP earned from books is always the same.

When you have fewer XP the Skill Points come faster. For a newer player those 80 XP will earn a skill point. For an experienced person they are just a drop in the bucket.

Just so you know, the Fence at the Cabaret doesn't always have the same equipment for sale. The only constants are the book and the flapper dress. Everything else changes.
