A place to talk about the new game coming out from the developers of Sleuth Noir.

Why was a thread about an upcoming game expansion hijacked? Seems very disrespectful to Ben and Sunny.

I agree with roamie. It's disrespectful. *shakes fist angrily*

Oh, and roamie.. it's not an expansion. It's a completely new game. Stand alone.

Come off it Jim you wereone of those Hijacking repeatedly.

I tried pulling this back on course a while ago.

It's pathetic (sorry for the strength of that butI can't find a happier word that still sums it up) There's plenty of room to go and talk rubbish in the Gumshoe lounge.

Some of us are genuinly interested in SOM, we know it's a new game, not an expansion but when you've been Sleuthing for a while this is home and you don't want to feel like Noir will ever be replaced.

Stop hijacking sensible threads please.

Stooby, I had the same request over a year ago. Very heated "discussion" in the Directors Lounge. The repeat rubbish offenders refuse to take it off the Sleuth Talk board.

ok so rather than have a "he said, she said" competition - and somebody sprain a finger from all that tutt-tutting - talk about the subject then kids... the last 4 (5 counting mine] 'you are all very naughty' posts haven't said anything about the new game either :)

So please, people with a sense of humour, take your frivolous hi jinx elsewhere and give this thread back its sterility.

There have been other posts commenting that SoM seems to be comparable to Gumshoe Online, and I agree that (so far) it does look that way. As a result I am wondering what the subscription fee will be based upon. Will it be a flat monthly fee (more than we're paying for Sleuth: Noir I assume) or a "per case" fee. Not that it makes a lot of difference as I will be checking it out either way, but just curious.

I'm still undecided which venue I will like best. Having played Gumshoe Online (if it is indeed comparable with SoM), I have to say that it didn't (obviously) do away with my need for Sleuth: Noir. Oh, my, my. How in the world am I going to subscribe to both?! :)

I didn't realize it was suddenly "disrepectful" to highjack posts. It is something that as has always been done.
There's no disrepect ntended and some people have a smile.
I think someone summed this up recently quite well, something about how sometimes it funny and sometimes it's just annoying or something.

When you're in a big community, there is always going to be someone or something that annoys you and nothing was malicious or petty until the couple of recent posts. It's those posts which sadden me and that I feel are disrespectful.

If anything, hijacking serves a purpose of bumping up a thread so that people that might not have noticed it the first time can notice it later.

Hijacking of threads is just a part of the community. I don't think it's disrepectful or that big of a deal.

I *did* in fact agree with roamie, and the shaking of the fist was just as much aimed at myself as anyone else. Don't assume I suffer from amnesia, Stooby. ;) I know well that I was part of the hijacking.

From what I understood SoM is gonna be placed in the 50s rather than the 20-30s that Noir is meant to be placed in. However, the feel I get from some pictures and text around Noir is that a lot of people have misunderstood (or subconsciously try to change) what time it's meant to be set in, so the place is an interesting time warp set in the "twefties". So hopefully, since I assume it's a misunderstanding, the addition of the new game will separate the two different player types so each get their own and everything sorts itself out nicely.

Or I should say I agreed with roamie in that the thread should be put back on track. Nothing more nor less.
