I was quite disappointed when I saw the reward for winning this competition as I dont feel the reward fits the accomplishment. I dont begrudge anyone receiving this reward but there are a lot of detectives out there that are far more deserving of this prize and I am sure there are a lot of people that really feel bad when they see what they received. I hope that there are other ways of recieving this reward as I find this to be just another reason for me to stay away from villian hunts. Congrats to the winners but I am very unhappy to see this given in such a way when a lot of very deserving detectives cannot get it.I feel that a lot of winning these competitions is based on the luck of the clues and not always the skills of the competitors.

Ahh, can you feel the love? Stop, you guys are making me weepy.

Seriously though (and certainly taking a bit of fun out of it), a way to earn palace gate keys will be added to the game shortly. I'm just giving the winners of the AVL grudge match a few days to lord it over us also-rans.

I don't think it was knowledge at all. SS organized it and didn't know about it.

Will the wonders of the Ben never cease ;)

And I will clarify my post, since it seems I had inserted all these suggestions between the lines without intention.

I was just wondering why no prize was noted at the beginning of the competition. That was the question. Not if SS and team deserved it. Not if the prize was bigger than it should have been. And not if SS and team did things underhanded and secretly to win said prize. The question was not meant to turn into Keygate or Gategate but as to why nothing was mentioned to all at the start of the competition. That's it. That's all.

Hah Gategate. Nixion has nothing on Sleuthers.
Hmm, there's an idea for an expansion.. solving political crimes.
Re-enact Watergate and see if this time the crooks get away.
And what really did happen on the Grassy Knoll.
And who was that one-armed man anyhow?

Nothing was mentioned at the start of the competition because at that point there wasn't a prize.

There haven't been prizes for previous AVL matches, as far as I'm aware.

Personally, I think it's really nice that Ben decided to do something to recognise the match. The AVL is a great Sleuth spin-off and it's good to see it being supported. Yep, OK, I'm aware that as I'm now a happy key-holder I'm not arguing from the best position here, but I'd have supported the idea of the prize whoever won. Honest.

Ben, I think you should take the gate key away. Its power is too great.

I have to say I hear Woody's and other's point of view on not knowing that there would be any Sleuth Prize rewarded for that AVL hunt. I might have formed a team if I had known.

But I am not that upset, especially when I know that every other contest in Sleuth from Mop-Men (link is broken by the way) to the last Beauty Pageant someone got something tangible in Sleuth.

At least with the Gate Key being an actual piece of equipment they will be spread around, and used as appropriate.

Whoa its an actual piece of equipment?

Hehe, I wonder who will be the first to complain about not being able to wear that, the compact travel kit and get an accessory as your prize without selling something lol ;)
