"hints" on case page

On the CASE page, during a case, on the right-hand side of the screen are listed evidence, something else, and hints. (Sorry...I finished my last case of the day and can't remember...)

What are these hints, and how can you get them?

I agree with Breit', hints are pretty useless, except for propping up a flagging list of suspects, however I might clarify:

* Just because, for example, the Music Teacher says she thinks Suspect Bob Brown knows who the killer is, doesn't mean Suspect Bob Brown actually 'knows'! It just means he THINKS he knows.

So if you go to Suspect Bob Brown and he says, 'Yes, I saw Suspect Fred Black leaving the scene of the crime, splattered in blood and a smoking gun in his hand', that doesn't mean Suspect Fred is guilty.

The only thing that makes Suspect Fred Guilty are the three rules.

PE + no/fake alibi
WE + no/fake alibi
WE + WE.
