Jojo, my age can easily be figured out in bio!!!
I figured I should put it in there, before YOU started commenting on it.

Now, treat me with respect, I could be your mother. :) (which is probably why you ended up in the insane asylum in the first place.)

Hey, jojo, better back off my co-director! You'll end up with three mad chicks coming at ya!
Course, one of us lives on another continent, but still. You get the point.
:-)

If you enjoyed the Da Vinci Code (did you ever finish it jojo?) and want to know more about the holy grail, knights templar and the priory it's worth reading 'The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail' (Michael Baigent et al). First published in the 80s, I think, it caused quite an academic fuss at the time. It's non fiction, occasionally dry to read but worth persevering with. You won't ever look at Christianity the same way again.

I have a serious question:
Your from Holland right? Do ya'll really wear the wooden shoes or are they a leftover relic from days gone by? If you do wear them, do they hurt your feet? What happens if you step on termites?

We don't all wear wooden shoes, the vast majority NEVER do. All though a few farmers do (some gardners as well), as they are easy to hose off dirt, and they are strong. You are supposed to wear them with goat woolen socks, and won't hurt your feet (if you are used to them and buy them in the right side, they are actually quite comfortable, and healthy to wear.

We don't have termites in Holland, so chances are low we step on them.

Although I am a city girl, I did buy a pair of clogs last year. With cow spots on them. For when I do yard work, or have to run in the yard to pull up my awning right before it starts raining. But lets say you wouldn't catch me wearing them, outside of my yard. My neighbours find it funny when I run around in them.

A different kind of clogs, not all wooden, with wood at the bottom and leather on top are often worn by nurses. I also wore them when I was little.

I think most purchased clogs though are by tourists. Another reason why we buy them is when you hang them upside down next to your door, you can put a plant in it.

All and all they are a relic of days gone, but not completely un-used either. The invention of rubber boots, kind of killed it. Near my house there is actually a wooden shoe store, where they demonstrate making them. http://www.zaanseschans.nl.
