I have a couple of questions I'd like some feedback on. Please Answer by replying to this post.

1) Is the game fun? Really fun, kind of fun, funner than going to the dentist?

2) Can you think of anything that would make the game more fun?

3) Is the game too hard? Too easy?

Thanks
-Ben

lol ah I'm getting old, DOS is the 'new Noir'.

'Sleuth DOS' though does have a nice ring to it ...

I think Ariadne that the DOS feel is to try and give the game a retrospective look. In this instance the game is supposedly set some time in the late 192o's-40. The creators have tried to give it that old black and white gangster movie feel to it. So a more 'colourful' approach might miss the point, somewhat.

I'll repeat what Jas said in Newbies about the sidekicks here as well. Unfortunately it's just bad luck that Wildman chose not to take it up and get the discount. I am glad though that you're enjoying the game enough to share that enjoyment with other people.

Oh and Welcome Wildman. :)

lol and we all get upset by the clam-uppiness of the suspects and townies. Thems the breaks though. As you progress so will your skills & gear and the the chance of clam-uppiness will diminish (but never completely). Patience is key.

Happy Sleuthing.

Squirrel out.

1) I think the game is great for rainy days. As I'm not a surbscriber yet, there isn't much to do though.

2) I wish that non-subscribers could get a couple of more actions, as there are a lot of poeple who can't afford (or don't have paypal) to subscribe. Of course people who pays should get a lot more fun, but I think it's a bit too big difference...

3) I think the game is ok, cos you can chose the difficulity you want.. If people think it's hard, they can chose intermediate or easy ;)

Sir Ben, I am from the Philippines, I love Sleuth, I love solving mysteries. I usually played MMORPG, actually MMORPG is quite popular here in South East Asia. But i believe online game(?) such as Sleuth will have a lot of gamers playing it as i have found it interesting and fun. I believe you would have a lot of subscribers here as the Sleuth will be popular here in the near future or as fast as the word spread about Sleuth. Now my concern is how can we subscribe? ( me and the future gamers here in my country) Believe me we're quite an addict here when it comes to online games. Tnx and more power to Sleuth ^,...,^

1. I have a lot of gun playing this game.
2. I think it would be better if we could add our own pictures for our detectives. I am fine with the amount of cases since i get 13 a day. I do think that we should be able to restart or delete our character.
3. The game is good for me I do not think it is too hard or easy as long as you are playing at the correct level.

1. Hooray! That's the main thing, I think.
2. Since you're subscribed you CAN change your picture. Check it out: http://noir.playsleuth.com/map/cityhall/post.spy?id=15793. And while you can't 'delete' a character, you can intentionally make 3 false accusations to have that character retired. From there, you can restart by using the 'reactivate retired detective' link on the login page.
3. Word, Tiffy. Word.

The game is great, but:

1) False accusations can destroy your fun. Shady should be cheaper (wayyyy moreeee), we should be able to hold more FA without the punch and even with all this, we shouldnt lose so much with retirement. Something like -2 all tests untill you pay shady. When you have 6 FAs you would have -4 all tests...and so on.

2) More cases! we cant hold 3 hours playing cases, because they end too quickly. Only AVH and Treasures seems to keep you playing more time, but that is not for newbies, like me =)

Noone is perfect and sometimes FA can happen.
I totally agree that we should not guess but the penalty is too severe. I had to spent more than one week of playing quite easy cases to be able to pay Shady. This was before I had 1M of experience points. I don't want to know what it would be if I had 5M or more. I didn't guess, I just made mistake. If this happens again I will quit playing the game. Would it be so bad if after solving 100 cases all FA were forgiven? I think that this rule would not lead anyone to idea of guessing if someone is guilty.

1) I too think the game is great.
3) It's ok. Not too difficult. May be there are a need of something more challenging when I get even more xp? But, that is not a problem yet.
2) I would desperately want a way of subscribing where I could choose for myself when to play few cases, and when to play many cases. Right now I have 6 subscribed sleuths, and are able to borrow a couple of more sleuths when I have the capacity, but even if I can play all the cases on a good day, and are even able to want more cases sometimes, it makes me consume much more time than I got on ordinary days. Also it's frustrating to remember who I am at the moment, and what the goals of this character are, and which city I am in an so on.
I know there are big discussions about this topic, but this rigidity about how many cases you are to do each day, in addition to some other factors, makes me sometimes think that I will just quit doing sleuth. I have tried to adjust to the current rules and situation by subscribing more sleuths, but it's actually not working too well for me. It's just nearly enough on days I am really gaming, making me not too satisfied then, and it's awful for me on days when I don't have the time. On such days I normally says to myself that I will have to stop with this. It's not good on good days, and it's not good on bad days... The rigidity of non-flexible # of cases-accounts makes me crazy.
I am convinced that if the will to look at this was present, there would be possible to find solutions that would be good for both types of players.
The solution would have to include some regulations on aging, competitions (AVL, Treasure Hunts), high-score-list-listings.
Also, at last, I would like some better server capacity. When doing a 6x subscription + 1 gift subscription, I think I have at least offered my fair share into the goal of getting better server capacity. So, please...?

I was thinking about this game, and its great and unique, but its probably the only game that you pay for playing but the owner of the game says how many time you can play.

Every game, you pay you play for how long you want. The admin should think about this.

1) Is the game fun? Really fun, kind of fun, funner than going to the dentist?
The game is fun, more fun than going to the dentist but not much fun as paintball. It could use a little spice such as being able to trade/sale items with other players or being able to drop your contact and earn a different one.

2) Can you think of anything that would make the game more fun? More fun would being able to actualy find a bargin item at Big Lucys and/or get a clue for solving a "Special Puzzel" for bonus/special item such as the ability to carry a third item or boost your archtype abilities/skills.

3) Is the game too hard? Too easy?
It seems to vary - at first it seems very hard but once you get some skills they get offset by working the harding cases. If it becomes too easy then you play till you burn out. Seems to me ppl are in just too much of a hurry. It would be nice to have a guage to tell you how many points you need to get your next point.
