I have a couple of questions I'd like some feedback on. Please Answer by replying to this post.

1) Is the game fun? Really fun, kind of fun, funner than going to the dentist?

2) Can you think of anything that would make the game more fun?

3) Is the game too hard? Too easy?

Thanks
-Ben

lol, 5 or 6 seconds per click...just wait until you've endured through 2 minute clicks while you're desperately jamming cases at 5 minutes before reset :)

Some interesting ideas there GM. The 'contact should just spill the name on PE' thing has been raised before, but it's important to remember that clicks produce revenue (for unsubbed players, anyways) as they are associated with advertisements. There's also been a few incarnations of the 'contacts should be temporary' idea. Watch how fast cfm produces the relevant links :)

Your idea about exp-related perks as targets is interesting. Like say a groovy magic calendar that told you in advance when a particular suspect was going to be away from home when you arrive to question them.

and hey...your #2 almost perfectly describes Villain Hunting. I say 'almost' because you forgot to say 'Delhi should be inexpicably but consistently worse'.

4) another thing is I have not yet fully understood how Smarts, Toughs etc work and I have not met a single person that really knows.

Theres lots of information to be found on these subjects on the newbie board. The experienced players all know how this works, so maybe you're just not asking the right people GM :) If you can't find the info on your own, try PMing any of the players who are on at any given time with over 5000 exp.

A bit further down the thread the suggestion was made to have your contact tell you outright who the evidence belongs to. I would think this would take a small load off the server and speed things up for everyone if we weren't going back and forth 11 times to check the PE.

Why can't you pay more money and be able to add more cases to your detective load? Wouldn't it eventually equally out instead of everyone(who is into the game) having more then one detective?

Having more than one detective doesn't necessarily translate into more cases and experience for an individual player. In fact many people have detectives that compete against each other. It's Bro v Bro here, like the civil war. Or niche porn, but you choose the simile you like best. Also there's been a general consensus that aside from the basic distinction between people who subscribe and people who don't, real life money shouldn't be used as a way to gain advantages. Try recruiting yourself a sidekick or eight.

We actually have recruited 7 people to our agency. But on days when I am bored and my cases have went through quickly - I wish there was not a cap. But I guess the cap is so we don't get bored and keep wanting more. The game is awesome and keeps me entertained:)

Hello all,

I've played for few days now (not subscribed yet) so my experience is limited to single player games on beginer/intermidiary/difficult levels, however, i hope my feedback can still be valuable in improving this potentialy great game...

1. it's not that much fun. i think the idea no doubt is great, why i sighned up in the first place, but implementation can be better:

2. I think it's too mechanical. i.e. once you figure out the mechanisms of it- it's no longer a challenge. For example, one need not actually know anything about the case at all to solve it- (basicly) just click trough suspects, find alibis, then link PE or WE. done. The actual circumstances of case make no difference so really i just feel like i am solving the same case over and over again.

Also, i find 'Harder' cases are not harder but 'Longer'. They are really more of the same...the way they are made harder- is that you are given more suspects.

so, i suggest instead of giving more suspects and thus producing a case which is longer to solve make is REALLY more difficult by supplying more information which will make the player THINK harder and really feel involved.

again, in my opinion, the way to keep the game interestign and fun is to make the player more involved in each case and make each case unique and special.

In terms of practical suggestions- i really think NPCs should LIE! this would do a few things :
- provide a more realistic environment
-added challenge to players
- opportunity to implement more skills ( lie detection etc)

I really don't like the system of 'clamping' -after all, it's very unrealistic. It can be used effectively- but at the moment it isn't. for example, i think people you talk to should (almost) always answer your questions- but not always providing all the possible information- so here is where 'clamping' can come in useful.

On the same note- when indentifying threads or hair - why should you ask who it belongs to? either make it so barber/ tailor tells you or MORE REALISTICALY- make it so he identifies what kind of clothes/ hair it is- (red silk/ brown straight hair/ etc) and so then you could go back and ask witnesses if anyone on that day was wearing these clothes etc . or break into house to find torn clothe etc.

basically, make the game more realistic to make it better. and there are myriad more ways in which you can do it .. this is just scratching the surface.

3. Its definately too easy.

last thing- whats the big deal with knowing the motive before being able to accuse???

I found myself is very frustrating situation where i had PE and 2 WE on 1 suspect and i couldn;t accuse because i did not know motive! i mean, if someone definately did it- surely reasons (which are usualy pathetic anyway-to steal a heirloom or insanity) shouldn't be important.
