I always had a thing for cats. I guess it all started in the days I had my imaginary pet firned named Fluffy. Or did I just imagine that I imagined that? :-)))

Anyway, over the span of years I had numerous cats. Mostly from people who wouldn't/couldn't sterilize their cats and periodically were confronted with the trumendous task of looking for volunteers to adopt the newly born kittens.

Other cat lovers here at Sleuthville who want to share their cat experiences here at the boards?

Right now I'm "catless" so I fear Fluffy can show up any day now..... :-))

I love my cats. Currently there are four (no, I am NOT a crazy cat lady), two are indoor/outdoor and two stay in all the time. I did have a dog, an old lady who found my home after someone dumped her in the middle of the desert (!), and I loved her until she died. She moved up north with us and is buried in a grove next to the cat that died just before she did. We weren't allowed pets as children, so I guess I am making up for it now - there are always at least two cats around.

Like Epiphany's, all my cats have always been strays. The cats I brought home in childhood didn't remain with us long because my mother would soon give them to someone with a garden ("it is better for the cat, dear"). Later my daughter kept up the family tradition and brought home every stray kitten she'd found. At present we have two, a sixteen year old white-and-yellow male who owns us all, and a fat six year old tigress who is interested only in the contents of her plate. And I'm sure there are more to come.

I apologize if their are any spelling mistakes in this post...but Liam, our 16lb rescued furry "monster" has taken it upon himself to sprawl out across my arms and chest as I sleuth. I think he sees me as his pet...or his scratching post...or kneeding blanket. Which is fine when it isn't done in my lap! SO MUCH FOR KIDS! When he isn't controlling me. he is using some of his Brooklyn attitude he has brought with him to Canada, to bump, push, smack or wrestle our other rescued furry monster, Oliver, to finish his food. I think we know who wears the pants in this house.

Hi Everyone,
I love this idea.I have had many cats in my life.My son has over the years brought home most of the cats I have had.I believe in the commitment when I take them in.They are mine until they pass on.If I could I would have more then I do.They like to get in the middle of my son's homework so we call them anti-homework cats. They are a part of our family.

LMAO Crunch - actually, there is no tuna in the house. But, okay, I can see the point about the avatar. Doesn't matter though, my badass black cat Noel is headed up to Canada now to kick your butt.

See ya in the emergency room!

I am currently caring for the loveliest of cats. A Siamese Seal-Point male of medium intelligence... He is getting smarter though... with time! =)

He is not a stray, I bought him for a very good price. Since I was not looking for a pedigree, and since he was the last of his litter, the owner was keen to sell him at any price.

I've named him Milan and he's been with me ever since!

Ahh!!!! The days of Fluffy, my imaginary cat friend..... :)

I used to dream about the little bugger you know. He wore these boots and a feathered hat and tought me the fine art of fencing. One morning I woke up all covered in sweat of the "action". I turned around and I could have sworn I saw a white cat hair on my pillow...

Yes, Siamese seal points. I used to have one of those. Adopted him from the animal asylum. He was about 4 years old when I first met him and he lived up to 17 years, bless him. I also remember he had this pedigree with an impossible name like Bummel Vanderschelde. Jeeze.....

I have 2 cats at the present time. Patches, who is 16 traveled with me from New York to Georgia. She is the indoor cat. Patches has developed renal failure and a thyroid condition. We have to give her fluids under her skin and thyroid pills every day. She has a lot of life left in her and demands that I get on the floor to play with her. I also have to get out the step ladder to take her down from places I have no clue how she reaches.
One of her favorite activities is hissing at the outdoor cat.
Scruffy, showed up at our house in Georgia a few months after moved there. He looks just like his name. His longish black and silver coat was matted and one of his eyes was in terrible shape. The vet thinks that some one abused him. After he was fixed up as much as possible by the vet, he stayed inside for about a month. He then decided he wanted to be the outside kitty. He loves to sit on the deck and watch the birds. He doesn't seem to have any interest in killing them. He also likes to play with our neighbor's dog and at times acts like a dog, rolling over on the driveway so we can rub his belly. Of course, he does this when we have packages in our hands and can not see him. He also likes to peek in the windows of whatever room we are in and meow s(proobably asking for more food). This is when Patches gets into the act and hisses.
