Wow, Ben! You don't waste any time! I logged off for a bit and when I came back on there was a new line with "transfer your retired subscription" (at least, I haven't seen it before now)

This is all I'm going to say about the ramifications of this change:

I'm going to retire Serges and resurrect him, so I can clear the one FA I have on my record. I'll stow my cash and equipment in my agency so they don't get affected by the penalties. I'll lose 500,000 experience and drop to -7 skill points, which can be made up within a week, instead of over $300,000, which is harder to accrue.

This is going to be a ridiculously exploitable change. Shady is now utterly powerless. FAs are now meaningless unless you are a top 30 detective with aspirations to remain there.

I'm not going to say anything more about my opinion on this change, except... you can't re-close Pandora's Box.

Welcome to the new era of Sleuth.

Will they still have the FAs? Can they do this as many times as they want?

No, roamie. I tested the system about 20 minutes ago and brought back a character with 0 FAs twice.

I can appreciate the idea that people want to bring back a detective from the grave.

I do think that Serges points out a gap in the process here.

If it is for more experienced detectives the skill point loss will not matter unless we loose skills we already learned. I never have any cash on my detective, not worried about that or the high score drop in posistion.

If the detective comes back with zero False Accusations on their record and there is no limit to the number of times you can do this then effectively we can play without fear.

The first 5 million is the only danger zone, once you earn all the skills you can false accuse with no fear of losing anything.

Perhaps a small clarification on the reactivation could be come back with 2 FAs.

Ok, seeing the posts that were done while I was typing, my clarification should be a change in the reactivation system.

Unless you really cherish your position on the rankings there is indeed no real risk involved anymore with FA's.

I like the possibility to avoid final retirement but only if it involves a certain effort to be made.

Completely agree with Serges and Ran.

Although a good idea, it is way too exploitable.

I honestly believe this was a worse idea than storable favors was.

Serges, thanks for pointing that out. I had forgotten to include one very important file when I pushed the update live.

The system now should leave two false accusations on your record when you are brought back. This is how it was always intended to work.

I think with the fear of FAs and the high price of Shady being gone it will take a little edge off of the game.
