Look at that, an on-time launch for a change!

Apartments are now available in the following cities:

New York
London
Shanghai
Delhi

To purchase an apartment visit the real estate agency in the city you want to buy in. Apartments are quite expensive, and furnishing them is also costly, so you probably should wait if your short on funds.

There are two types of furniture that aren't yet working:

1) Study Furniture / Case File storage: These items will allow you to save case files, as in detective agencies, but this functionality is not yet finished.

2) Bookshelves: Bookshelves will eventually allow your guests to read books that you have collected (and gain the experience from doing so), but these are also currently incomplete.

Enjoy.

Well, I've had a few hours to get used to my new apartment, and I like it. The colours are nice, its a good size, and it has great views. I have had a look through the furniture catalogue I had delivered, and there is some lovely furniture in there to buy. I just have one question. Would it be possible to buy (or better yet, have for free!) a safe? I know I find it easier to keep hold of cash if it is stored somewhere and as I move around it would be nice to be able to get at some extra money from my apartment. As long as I have remembered to save up, that is :)

Cool! Thanks Ben!

I got an invite to someone's appartment. But how do I know which city is it in? Is there a way to track down invites?

And a question to those who already bought one. Does it matter how big it is? Like: if you have more rooms you can store more cases or more items?

Update:

1) Bookshelves are now working. If you have a bookshelf, you and your guests can use it to access your book collection. This means that guests can get experience from books that you own, but they do not.

2) As per several requests, when you invite somebody to your apartment, the invitation message now includes the city that your apartment is located in, so they don't have to guess.

The case files still do not work. It will probably be a few days before those are functional.

Is it true that we can only own one apartment?

Yes, just one apartment for now. We need to put in some thoughts about the effect that having more than one apartment would have on game fairness.

Any thoughts of adding a YMCA to the cities.Or maybe a locker at the docks or train stations. Somewhere where we can purchase an affordable locker to store a coat or a pair of shoes instead of the astronomically priced apartments and furniture? The apartments are a nice idea, but the high prices make them unattractive. Just a thought.

Expensive, yes.

But I feel Ben has subscribed to the Field of Dreams mentality:

"If you build it, they will come."

So rock on, Admin-a-saurus. Keep giving us ways to blow our cash and we will continue to keep the Sleuth economy vibrant :)
