AVL hunts will now be unbalanced as those people who are able to find more friends for sleuth will gain a huge advantage for hunts with extra cases. So if you want to remain competitive in this game, you MUST go find other to play.

Wait, wait, wait...

you mean Admin actually LIKES the AVL? What's with all the "convenient" timing on expansions then? :)

One question for Admin on sidekicks.

How long of a subscription does it need to be? and how long do the extra cases last for?

I recruit 20 new people to sub for one month each I get 4 more cases a day for the rest of my time in Sleuth?

As soon as I discovered Sleuth in July of this year, I started telling my friends and family about it. As a result, I was able to recruit4 players. Two of my friends now hold 2 subscriptions each. Wish there was a way to get credit for all of them.

There's now a section on your bio now that says how many side kicks and extra cases you have.

Before I spend any money on Sidekicks I want to know how long they are good for.

I can afford to give 20 people the combined $120 to get the 33% more cases per day (21 total cases per day counting favors).

So do I have to spend that money every month? or just the one time?

On another note, this will drastically affect how agencies play. If you have an agency full of agents that have 4 more extra cases plus 1 more extra favor a day can be a tremendous advantage for hunting purposes.

The AVL has already been pointed out, but I think that 4 extra cases can also mean the difference between finishing on day 3 versus day 4.

I am sorry, but I am not too crazy about this.

Wouldn't it be $140? ($7 for one month times 20 people)

I know I can not afford to give anyone money so they can subscribe so I guess unless you have friends with money and interest, or have enough money to give away, you will be stuck at a disadvantage.

While I completely understand this as a business model, it sure is hard to be enthusiastic about it as a player who will not see those extra cases.

$140 - the 15% reduction ;)

As for the length of the bonus cases, my guess is that it'll follow the length of your sidekicks subscription - as "3. A customer may only redeem a Sidekick Coupon when purchasing their first subscription." - still it's pure guesswork :)

Thanks Greyling. I really should learn not to try math before I have had my coffee.

One other question I have is about #6 "You may not redeem a Sidekick Coupon that you sent to somebody else."

I am thinking this means, you can not use your paypal account to buy other people subscriptions. But what about IP addresses? Have a party at your house, have everyone use your computer to subscribe a detective with their own credit cards, and hand them each $6 cash.

I do actually hope this becomes a way to get more new players involved with Sleuth instead of a way for a few players with extra cash to gain more cases.

I agree with Greyling and Arabella that this is a good opportunity to increase the subsciber base and I would think that at least some percentage of the sidekicks renew on their own for longer subscriptions.

As a buisness model this works to draw in more cash, and I do not fault Admin for that at all. I just think that it creates a third tier in the community.

If the bonus runs out if your sidekick does not renew then it will be a good brake on this getting out of control.
