Tea Merchant just came up 4th time in a row.
I do not want to complete a favor for tea merchant and risk getting him as a contact.
I have started the favor and QUIT the favor.
Four times now.
But if its going to come up over and over again, I just wish I would have done it the first time.

Now. How does it work? Is London going to just keep handing out Tea Merchant favors until someone actually completes one for him? Do I need to get someone to COMPLETE a tea merchant favor and THEN discard my Tea Merchant favor?

Or was it just that 1 in 1000 happenstance to get same 1/10 three times after the first?

Its just the annoying way of the game to punnish those who try to get a certain contact :P

Dont give up! Just keep QUITING them! In the end you'll get what you want.

Other people favors dont affect what you get (as far as I know).

There is a bit of speculation.... I stress PURE SPECULATION ...this is not provable.

That the way favors come up is random is a given in the game. How the next favor is seeded in the game engine is the question. Some people think that your example shows that the Tea Merchant is the next favor to be done, and if you do not do it than another detective somewhere in the city has to do it before it will switch to the next favor. If you start the Tea Merchant, then someone else in your agency starts a new favor (they under this theory would not get the Tea Merchant) than you can quit yours and your next favor will be someone new.

I personally do not think this is a valid theory, but as I said we as players have no way to prove or disprove it. I offer it here for public disccussion or as alternative to try and get a different favor to come up for you.
