At risk of repeating myself:

You cannot form or join ANY agency at all unless you have paid for a game subscription.

In other words, YES, you have to "be subscribed", "buy a membership", "sign up" or whatever other combination of words you would prefer to use to mean "pay money for premium content".

You can find out how to do this here:

http://noir.playsleuth.com/detective/subscribe.spy

This is a game rule, and not one made or enforced by agency directors, so asking nicely (while very sweet) won't help, no matter how eager you are or how much you love the game.

I promise, you'll like it even more with a subscription! So first get one, THEN start asking if you can join a particular agency. There's always lots of people looking for new talent - but no-one's interested in you until you subscribe.

Happy Sleuthing!

Hang on now, there's no need to rub anyone's nose, or anyone's fins, or anyone's freemember or ANYTHING like that. This here's a family site, yo!

Claire, it's not a question of rubbing noses in it, it's a question of saving hassles and disappointment. This thread was started because despite the fact that it's posted all over the place, new people have a tendency to not bother reading and just spam people's recruiting posts, which gets really irritating. So, I thank you for taking the title of the thread seriously and reading it first :)

You're certainly welcome to your opinion, but do you really think that people who don't pay should get the same stuff as people who do? Wanna try explaining what you think is unfair about that?

No one "hates" unsubbed people, Claire. And the person who you called "mean" and "snobby" is actually one of the most generous and helpful people on this site.

The rules of this site are that unsubscribed people cannot join an agency. Period. We didn't make the rules, the administrators of the site did. And they did that because it costs real money to run this site. The owners/operators of the site barely break even with the money they make. So yes, there is some premium content for subscribers. It's the way of the world, and name-calling really won't change that.

Jean.

I think you probably didn't read this very carefully. You must be subscribed to join an agency. And you are not subscribed.

Jean, the first thing you need to do is subscribe.

Then you will find lots of agencies willing to help out and have you join.

As is mentioned several times in this thread and on the recruiment board itself. You must be subscribed in order to join or form any agency. It's a site rule not a player rule so there's nothing we can do to help with that.

I am only checking- you have to pay for the subscription to be able to join an agency? Not signed up simply with the site or anything, but paying(or paid) for a subscription?
