I was just perusing the weekly high scorers (wow! you guys are amazing...) and was wondering just how it is possible to complete so many cases (200+!) in one week. By my count, 7X12 is 84, plus maybe another 4 favors per day - that still only makes 112, if you solved everything. Where are the other 100+ cases coming from?

Well, I'm not too worried Chron. When I learn what the rules are - meaning those that are set forth by Ben & Sunny - I abide by them. I wish you the best also, in where ever life takes you.

I have'nt read all this tread and I will not.
I'm remenbering this morning telling to one of my co-directors (private chat), "how long will it take to the guys of ERF team to be lazy about this game?" a little jealous (yes) and thinking how will we be able to earn some ranks when there is people that can earn more XP points in 100 days than I will never have.
But seeing ERF team dissolved isn't definately a good point to me, the guys were just enjoying the game, and were great at it!
Yes, I'll like to be number one!
Yes, I'll like to see my agency number one!
Yes, I'll (or my agency) like to earn a lot of treasure hunts!
But I just try my best, with the time that I'm able to play sleuth, and it's already very good.

Just to tell that I hope to not see any others detective leaving the game because of what they read on the board.

To me thing are forbiden or allowed, point.
If there are thing allowed that you don't like you just don't do them.

To answer Crunches question about daily alloted cases. It was 8 maximum cases, at rediculously hard. But keep in mind, that the better equipment that most people here may remember (for tough equipment the zoot suit etc) were introduced later. We also only had NYC, so we weren't loosing cases by travelling.

In any case, to play the 8 rediculously hard cases, took several hours each day. If you push the cases of your allowed 1 double it would be 16 and take hours more. Thrown in with a treasure hunt here and there.

If I got paid to play sleuth, I'd be rich. :)

And yes Chron you were right, when the cities of mysteries came the top score list was hugely thrown off balance. Because of the 10 cases, but more so the introduction of AI cases.

What about switching to (or adding) an average based ranking system? i.e.:

solved cases/total cases
quit cases/total cases
experience points/total cases
experience points/solved cases
etc.

I think that was a very selfish thing to do Chron.

You may want to walk away from the game, but why punish your teammates by disolving the agency on purpose? They should have had the chance to continue on building upon the foundations you laid.

Sleuth is both an individual game and a team game. There should a balance in reactions that reflect both parts.

Of course you presume to know what is on everyone's mind and in their hearts. My agents know why I made this decision, as it's been in the works for a while. I do not want them to continue to be subjected to the venom just because they are in ERF TEAM. I warned them when they first joined of what lay ahead as a consequence of being in my agency, and they took it lightly, but the proof is here for all to see.

I notice you just like disagreeing with me, no matter what the subject. You didn't have anything to say when Jas confirmed my contacts/factions connections, not even an 'I stand corrected', not that I expected it from any of the naysayers.

I've shared my findings with my friends, and I'm sure eventually it will get out to many others, but that's how things work.

It's been interesting, I'll have to admit, but I think with no ERF TEAM, maybe this place will take on a much friendlier atmosphere. Believe it or not, that IS my hope, for the sakes of my team mates and friends!

Actually Chron, nobody has won here. Dissolving ERF and retiring your detective does nothing to solve our initial problem here. It appears that you know what you were doing was "unethical" or else you would not have deflected all the attention by dissolving your agency and retiring your detectives. Instead of taking responsibility and standing up for your method of play, you have decided to commit sleuth suicide. And unfortunately, I do not feel sorrow, as no one in the community specifically asked you to do this. I have never enjoyed party poopers and to me this is a big poop.

Chron, mate, sorry to found out about you decision. But I'm sure it wasn't taken over a night. Luckily this is just a game or else I'd be inspired to write a scription on group dynamics.

Can we all agree to the fact that rewards and glory emerge from the fact how much work you put into it? And can we also agree that after you collected all your skills and contacts, have been to every city, caught a couple of villains, won some treasure hunts and figured out whatever is in there in the pyramids, all what is left is just a mere matter of quantities?

To be honest, I have a hard time to motivate myself and work on 12 cases on a daily basis. But I have no problem whatsoever to give away my remaining cases to someone else in my agency who looks to climb up in the rankings.

The way I see it and based on previous comments those rankings don't seem to add to the fun but only cause friction and frustration. What if we just would get rid of them? I have no problem to see someone being a couple of ranks ahead of me because it doesn't mean a thing to me.

And if you think it's unfair that another person will always be ahead of you and you have no chance to ever catch up, you can always start an agency of your own and bring in as many doubles as you like. Yes as many as you like, you heard it....

The question is, how much fun will you have?

Well, when it comes down to it all this wind and no water butters no parsnips at the end of the day. Adieu, sayonara, bon voyage and toodle pip - now can we get on and solve some crime?
